Get ready to be transported to the majestic Andes Mountains with the captivating sounds of Los Hermanos de los Andes!

Formed in 1989 among the Rocky Mountains, this talented Andean folk music group has been sharing the rich musical heritage of the Andes for over three decades. Using traditional instruments like the zampoñas (pan flutes), quena (notched flutes), and charango (a lute-like instrument), their melodies carry the spirit of the ancient Inca civilization and the beauty of Andean culture.

Join us on Friday, February 7th, 2025, at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center as part of our Community First Friday series to experience this one-of-a-kind performance. More than a concert, their shows are cultural journeys where music meets storytelling. You'll learn the origins of each melody and the significance of their instruments, leaving inspired and connected.

Pilar Pobil celebrated diversity and was a great friend of the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. We are honored to have hosted the family’s memorial gathering in her honor this past weekend, alongside her namesake gallery, the Pilar Pobil Celebration Gallery.

We were also proud to showcase significant works by Pilar that were recently gifted to the UCCC’s Permanent Collection by the Utah Museum of Fine Art. Rest in Peace Pilar.

𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞: 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐝

Water flows into the Great Salt Lake through three natural tributaries: the Bear River from the North, the Weber River from the East, and the Jordan River from the South. Each carries the essence of its journey—farmlands, suburban sprawl, and granite peaks—to the lake where they converge.

Poet Sarah Ann Woodbury and photographer Linda Dalton Walker made pilgrimages to these confluences, mapping each site through the intertwining of image and poetry. Alongside other artists and lake devotees, they invite you to explore the unruly waters that make the body of the lake.

"Water Pilgrimage: Where the Rivers End" was created by Linda alongside nationally published poet Sarah Ann Woodbury after they spent over a year exploring where rivers feed into the Great Salt Lake. The exhibit highlights the beauty and challenges of vital Utah waterways.

Learn. Experience. Celebrate.

Learn. Experience. Celebrate. These are the 3 words that descibe us best. We impart a sense of learning. We work with schools to educate children about art, culture, and the community around them. We provide a place for you to see where your neighbors and other members of the community come from, why they think the way they do, and what you can learn from them. We create experiences for all people by creating and presenting thought provoking art exhibits, festivals, concerts, and theatrical performances. We love to celebrate with the community and provide a place for you and your family, business, or community organization to celebrate what you love. Finally, we give you the opportunity to give back to your community by getting involved with our events, educational programs, and other community service projects.
