This International Women’s Day, we invite you to celebrate the power of women, art, and community at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center by visiting the "In Her Circle" gallery.

This unique exhibit showcases the work of ten incredible female artists, all connected through one central figure—a woman whose invitation and sense of community have brought them together. Each piece reflects a personal journey, offering diverse perspectives, styles, and stories woven together in a mosaic of creativity and camaraderie.

Join us in honoring women’s voices, experiences, and artistic expression. Let’s uplift and support the women in our lives by stepping into their world—through their art, their circle, their stories.

Box: (noun) An area that is to be filled in or that is set off by a border.

Litho: (noun) Short for lithography, the process of printing from a flat surface treated so as to repel the ink except where it is required for printing.

Join us this Community First Friday for the opening reception for Box & Litho. This exhibit consists of many of the surreal works of a pair of artists, father-son duo Wayne and Abe Kimball, who can’t help overlapping in their art making habits. They have a mutual penchant for complexities of drawing, assemblage, and collage which are derivatives of their hand-printed lithographic images. The artists want viewers to discover the many modular images and icons. Meaning can be gleaned from reflecting on the combination of images and objects or simply enjoy the formal qualities.

January 2025 Essential Piece Recipient: Pastor Jamie Moreno

This month, we proudly honor Pastor Jamie Moreno of Mount Calvary Family Workship Center as our Essential Piece recipient!

A true community leader, Pastor Moreno is a founding member and current chairperson of the Interfaith Council, where he works tirelessly to unite diverse faiths for the common good. His dedication shines through his efforts to bring programs like No Más to West Valley City—a child s*x abuse prevention initiative that teaches and empowers children to speak up.

Pastor Moreno also played a key role in supporting the creation of the beloved annual My Hometown Christmas program, which brings churches and communities together to celebrate the holiday season with unity and tradition. This event features a variety of performances, including singing, dancing, and acting, showcasing the talents and diversity of the West Valley City community. Through his encouragement and leadership, the program has become a cherished tradition that fosters connection and joy.

In addition, Pastor Moreno has worked hard to connect with the Spanish-speaking community in West Valley City. Through bilingual services, outreach programs, and direct engagement, he ensures that residents feel supported and included in community initiatives.

As pastor, Pastor Moreno supports countless residents through guidance, compassion, and unwavering faith. His commitment to making a difference inspires us all.

Help us celebrate Pastor Moreno’s incredible impact by sharing this post!

Learn. Experience. Celebrate.

Learn. Experience. Celebrate. These are the 3 words that descibe us best. We impart a sense of learning. We work with schools to educate children about art, culture, and the community around them. We provide a place for you to see where your neighbors and other members of the community come from, why they think the way they do, and what you can learn from them. We create experiences for all people by creating and presenting thought provoking art exhibits, festivals, concerts, and theatrical performances. We love to celebrate with the community and provide a place for you and your family, business, or community organization to celebrate what you love. Finally, we give you the opportunity to give back to your community by getting involved with our events, educational programs, and other community service projects.
