I’ve been wanting to witness the aurora since the day I got to know of the existence of this phenomenon. I’m nothing short of lucky to have been in Canada on this rare occasion of extremely heightened solar activity this past week.

Driving 2.5 hrs up north paid off, and I was able to get some sick lights in my frames.

The only thing I wish was if people picked up litter after them. I was deeply saddened witnessing the litter left behind by so many people who had travelled to witness the aurora. People were also extremely loud and disrespectful to others around them who may have wanted to witness this beautiful natural event in peace.

The best things in life are worth waiting for. I’ve always wanted to see the aurora borealis and I finally did it at Willow Beach, Lake Simcoe. It was a surreal experience and I’m so glad I got to share it with some amazing people. Here are some of the snaps we took of the stunning spectacle.

We are so thrilled for Bushra & Afan, who are getting married tomorrow! They are one of our favorite couples ever, and we had a blast shooting their engagement session in Banff, Alberta, a few months ago. They have such a strong connection and a playful vibe. We are honored to be part of their wedding day and we can't wait to see them say "Qubool Hay,". Bushra & Afan, you rock!

I had the chance to capture the super moon on August 1st, 2023 in Downtown Toronto using my amazing 600mm f/11 RF lens mounted on my R5. I was at Dundas St and McCaul St, hoping to get a shot of the CN Tower and the moon together, but I realized I was too close for both of them to fit in my frame. And I didn't have any other lenses with me that day. Oh well, maybe next time! I'm still happy with how the moon turned out. It looks so crisp and detailed. I can't wait for the next super moon on August 31st. 🌕

2022 has ended and what better way to ring in 2023 than with a bang (pun intended)! These fireworks over Celebration Square in Mississauga are lighting up the sky and our hearts as we welcome the new year with open arms. This may be my first Canadian New Year, but I have a feeling it's going to be the best one yet! Cheers to a year of love, laughter, and making sparks fly (another pun, couldn't resist). From the looks of it, toronto is one of the dog friendliest cities I’ve been to.

Wherever I go, I see a human accompanied by their best friend aka Dogo 🐕 These fur-balls also help their human companions network with other dog-humans out on a walk - a completely new way to make friends and connect with people !

Moving on to a new city is a difficult move I’ve always thought, and chose to stay in Pindi all my life despite being madly in love with Lahore and Karachi … Pindi has always been my home.

Moving on to another country, on an entirely new continent that too at the farther end of the globe is a big big move for me as the day comes closer.

I’ve always been very interested in culture and people. I’ve travelled the breadths and widths of Pakistan and made numerous friends all over; I proudly belong everywhere I travel because I’ve spent more than two decades traveling across and befriending some of the most genuine people I know. Moving on to Canada gave me scares, I know nothing about the geography let alone the culture, custom and origin of the land that I’m soon about to call home.

I was however very lucky on my recent trip to Toronto that Canada commemorated “The day of truth and reconciliation” for the first time in its history. The air was such and the central location of my stay at the place of allowed me to witness the installation “Built on Genocide” by indigenous artist Jay Soule who goes by the name at the Harbour Square.
