3-5pm Angry Debutantes. Pictured with one of my favorite bands and they have played at many events that I hosted over many years .Love these girls and honored every time I get to see them. Joe Serio

After being expelled from Charm School for their angry outbursts &
destruction of school property, these talented outcasts formed the all girl punk,
rock, metal, & rap group, The Angry Debutantes.
Donning bouffant hairdo and chiffon frocks, their songs
range from My Boy Friend’s Back by The Angels to Metallica’s Enter Sandman.
They are a delight to behold both in music and performance (careful kids, watch for flying
microphones, champagne & other ‘Deb’ris). The Angry Debutantes may behave like
improper girls while on stage; but there is always a glimmer of the class & elegance they were born into.

Rick Gendron Sr. describes his Angry Debutante experience… “ it was like
watching the 3 Stooges illegitimate children rock the house.”

The Angry Debutantes are;
Mildred ‘Muffy’ Moorehead: Head Deb, lead vocals, rhythm guitar, & Aqua Net haze.
Gertrude 'Gert'Bingham: Lead guitar & kicking stuff over.
Barbara “Bambi” Bosworth: Bass guitar, backing vocals & armpit farts.
Special guest drummer Henry ‘Tank’ Hefner the illegitimate nephew of Hugh Hefner, covering for Kitty Stolz during her incarceration for a probation violation (declaimer the photo is not 100% accurate. Henry would be on the right)

1:20pm-2:45pm MR STRICKLAND is a powerful classic rock band playing killer classics from 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and beyond. The band is based from North Central MA, and has been playing together for several years, entertaining crowds at large festivals like the Westminster Cracker Festival, breweries like Wachusett Brewery, outdoor venues or clubs like Hollis Hills Whether it’s playing challenging rock covers by Boston, Queen, Journey, Led Zepplin, or Steely Dan or playing dance classics from Bruno Mars, to Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind, and Fire, or the J.Geils Band, the talented members of MR STRICKLAND have many decades of experience and know how to keep you entertained and on your feet at any occasion!

This was the beginning of the Westminster Cracker Festival Royal Family. The first Cracker Queen, Jillian D'Onfro, the first princess, CC Traylor, and Cracker Barrel Bob, Jared Moore, born on the floor of a wood shop in Maine. Even though it was a nice family, we soon heard the cry, why can't my child be a princess? From that day forward we invited every girl and boy to be part of the Parade of Princesses. No registration neccessary. Come to Horrigan Flooring this Saturday at 1pm, dressed like a princess or prince and march in to God Save the Queen. Let's make this the biggest parade yet!

Sue and Wayne Hearn with friends in the Arctic Circle (latitude 66° 33')Crackers are everywhere and travel well with good friends. Get to the Westminster Cracker Festival this Saturday October 19. Weather will be great and the $1000 prize Chili Contest will take place. FREE and bands from 10 to 5pm.

Kids of all ages love Westminster Crackers. 1&1/2 year old Lilah Mallia at the Wardhurst Restaurant in Peabody. She is the granddaughter of the founder of the Festival, so she is not eligible for the $100 prize.

12noon Tsunami of Sound.Our favorite Surf Band. Batman and the Joker not included.
Tsunami of Sound has been together for 16 years playing high energy surf,rock instrumentals,TV and movie themes and kooky covers.They have played just every club and venue in New England including many dates in NYC.Some notable shows they've appeared at are Fenway Park, opening for Batman(Adam West)and Eddie Munster (Butch Patrick).Their album Permanent Wave is out now at tsunamiofsound.bandcamp.com and available at shows.

Music 11am. THE TRIBE with Nate Grigos is a collective of musicians from across New England who come together to celebrate the essence of music through improvisation and collaboration. Nate has been the visionary behind this musical gathering curating unique combinations of talent at various venues. Each performance is a distinct experience blending genres, styles and personalities to create unforgettable jam sessions. What goes better with good music, but good beer. The beer sponsor of the Festival every year since the beginning in 2015 is Wachusett Brewing Company. Featuring great seasonal's like Pumpkin Ale and Oktoberfest Other favorites like Wally's and Blueberry will also be on tap.

The Festival is 1 week from today! We always look forward to the kickoff to the music with Kris Lucander's 65 piece Westminster Elementary School Band at 10AM. Parents, Grandparents and friends gather for the National Anthem with VFW Post 7389 Color Guard, followed by 40 minutes of music standards. Before this wonderful event is the scenic Blueprint Cracker 5K at 9am. THE PARADE OF THE PRINCESSES. One of the highlights of the Festival is the parade led by the Cracker Queen, this year Emily Grigos. All children are invited to dress up as princesses or princes and be in the parade. No preregistration necessary! Just meet at Horrigan Flooring at 1pm and march into the Festival to God Save the Queen. Invite your friends and neighbors kids to be part of this fun event. Parade starts at 1:10pm.

Thanks to all who came out for the Scarecrow on Main Street Workshop. We handed out 24 of these frame setups pictured. Remember you do not have to use them, but if you still need a frame email [email protected]. Beautiful moment in Westminster history. Pictured is local legend Porter Dawley outside Westminster Pharmacy in 2004, day after they won the World Series for the first time since 1918. I realized the significance and took his picture as Porter was 10 years when he experienced Babe Ruth leading the Red Sox to their last title 86 years prior. Porter was long time owner of Westminster Crackers, lived next to the factory, drove until he was 98 (?) and lived to 100. Please add more stories of his iconic life in our town. By the way I thought of this photo as the Texas Rangers won their first ever World Series and for many of us, 2004 seemed like our first.
