Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a sold out, successful Valentine’s Day! I am happy to say that I already have a note page on my phone labeled Valentine’s Day 2026 full of new ideas & we aren’t ready to throw in the towel just yet! ❤️
In all honesty, offering Valentine’s Day flowers was never part of my plan from the beginning of Homegrown Blooms, simply because- they aren’t homegrown. It’s a holiday in the middle of the winter (a much needed off-season break) when we have to order in ALL of our materials. But when we first opened up and started getting request for V day flowers, I didn’t want to turn away returning customers & I wanted to offer them something other than traditional dozen red roses.
So in typical Homegrown Blooms fashion, I went overboard 😂 For the last several years I have committed to offering a V day menu with different themes & styles and pre-ordered hundreds of different varieties to bring these bouquets to life. Over the years it’s been so much fun & given me a creative outlet in the midst of winter. But in the same breath, it’s been a lot of work, stress and anxiety. With flower prices rising constantly & trying to keep my prices down without compromising ordering those special big $ varieties like garden roses, orchids, ranunculus etc. it can be really risky! I place my preorder in January & start advertising. Unfortunately most of my followers & customers are ladies & this year especially orders were coming in slow. I worried I wasn’t even going to break even & move all these flowers after all this work. But thanks to the best customers in the world, between last minute preorders, walk-ins & the farmstand we sold every last stem! The amount of people who asked if this was really going to be our last year doing Valentine’s Day was touching & reminded me why we do it in the first place & to stick to my guns and continue working hard and it will all work out!
So THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your support. I had the pleasure of ending this crazy week with Galentine’s day workshops and connecting with some amazing ladies & having a blast as always. Every single one of you that shared our posts, tagged your friends, ordered a bouquet, came by our farmstand, joined us in a workshop- you made a difference in this small business & we are forever thankful!
We’ll see you in 2026 with more fun themes and surprises up our sleeves 😉💘💐
