The Suzuki Music Schools of Westport & Orange, CT, is Fairfield County's leading 501(c)3 non-profit music school, founded in 1997. We offer music lessons in violin, viola, cello, guitar, flute, piano, chamber music, and music theory to over 400 students. We also run a variety of music classes for mothers and tots from newborn to 6 years, as well as music enrichment classes for adults of all ages.

Our talented faculty is trained within the Suzuki Method and aims to instill joy and confidence to every student through the medium of music. We invite you to come and visit the school, meet the faculty or sit in on a lesson. Or if you would like to be entertained, come and attend one of our events - an inspiring student concert or our exciting visiting artist series. 🎶 Concert Announcement: It's a double feature! 🎶

Join us at both our Westport and Orange Locations the weekend of January 11-12th for our Children's Cookie Concert and Children's Pillow Concert Series. Reserve your FREE ticket on our website.

🎻Saturday January 11th at 3pm, we will kickoff at SMSO with alumna Claire Lane, Violinist featuring pianist, Elina Christova. There will be cookies and cocoa to enjoy!

🎼On Sunday January 12th we'll close out the weekend featuring flautist, Zara Lawler at SMSW at 3pm. Bring a pillow and enjoy the music!

On December 15th, 2024, Rohan Gowthaman, Jackson Jansa, William Law, and Margaux Chang received the title of First Place Winner at the Eleventh Festival Audition sponsored by the Connecticut State Music Teachers Association Fairfield Chapter. They are piano students of Kumiko Imamura at the Westport campus.

Local string ensemble, Vivace, joins us tomorrow for a lively performance of pop, rock and holiday music! Presented by Suzuki Music Schools and featuring specially-created arrangements of favorites like Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" and OneRepublic's "Secrets," plus some festive tunes, this concert is the perfect way to close out the holiday season. On December 18th, Abigail Chang, piano, won First Prize and the Bach Excellent Interpretation Award in the Young Artist Category and Absolute First Prize in Baroque (under age 17) at the Bach International Music Competition UK. Abigail is a student of Ms. Kumiko Imamura on the Westport Campus.

Looking forward to being a part of the pre-show performances at Westport Country Playhouse this weekend with Kids Empowered by Your Support. Come enjoy some festive music to accompany the holiday season 🎶🎁

Join us for our pre-show performances during the run of A SHERLOCK CAROL, December 17 - 22. We welcome Suzuki Music Schools, a nonprofit community music school dedicated to inspiring young minds to experience the joy of music, KEYS (Kids Empowered by Your Support), a nonprofit music school with the mission to provide free music lessons and performance opportunities to under-resourced students of Bridgeport.

Performances will be located in the lobby before the show! We look forward to seeing you there 🎼!

❄️ The violinists at SMSO will play a variety of holiday tunes and end with a sing-along followed by a cookies and hot cocoa reception.

A recent clip of Navarra by Sarasate from last week’s Children’s Pillow Concert in Westport featuring violinists Netta & Tina Hadari along with Tamila Azadaliyeva, pianist.

A favorite concert series of families throughout the region, sponsored by WSHU Public Radio, featuring local and international artists performing in an informal setting designed for the whole family. Children of all ages can bring a pillow and get up close with the performers.

Eric Jansa has been named an honorable mention at the Connecticut Junio Piano Performance, MTNA Competition. Eric challenged himself in many ways through preparing and recording of this competition. It is the greatest outcome of what we got from this experience!! Bravissimo, Eric!! And many thanks to Dr. Andrew for his help in recording. Students of KEYS teacher Audie Szymanski (middle), Susana (left) and Sebastian (right), received scholarships to 2 weeks of Chamber Camp at the Suzuki Music Schools of Westport and Orange. According to Sebastian, it was one of the highlights of his summer.
KEYS partners with other nonprofit organizations like Suzuki to provide a broad set of experiences and opportunities for our KEYS students.
