⭐ Student News ⭐

Eric Jansa has been named an honorable mention at the Connecticut Junio Piano Performance, MTNA Competition. Eric challenged himself in many ways through preparing and recording of this competition. It is the greatest outcome of what we got from this experience!! Bravissimo, Eric!! And many thanks to Dr. Andrew for his help in recording. Eric is a student of piano instructor, Kumiko Imamura, at the Westport Campus.

Students of KEYS teacher Audie Szymanski (middle), Susana (left) and Sebastian (right), received scholarships to 2 weeks of Chamber Camp at the Suzuki Music Schools of Westport and Orange. According to Sebastian, it was one of the highlights of his summer.
KEYS partners with other nonprofit organizations like Suzuki to provide a broad set of experiences and opportunities for our KEYS students.

You're Invited to the Spooky Suzuki Concert on Sunday October 27th!

🎃 Two of Westport’s favorite organizations come together for a special family Halloween event! Bring your family, bring your friends for a Halloween Festival at Gilbertie’s Herb and Garden Center.

👻 Expect food, children’s games and a special costume concert by the faculty and students of the Suzuki Music Schools at 2pm. Vivace, the school's senior string ensemble, will be performing as you arrive, so be sure to get there early!

⭐️ Student & Faculty News ⭐️

🎹 William, Jackson, & Eric, SMSW pianists, attended the International Junior Piano Institute in Uozu, Japan this summer and played an ensemble piece by Thompson titled “Concerto Americana” in cowboy costumes. They also performed various solo pieces by Burgmuller, Chopin, Clementi, Debussy, Gillock, Gottschalk, Leontine Price, & Christopher Doll. Each played 4 out of 6 concerts at the various venues such as two elementary schools, Culture Center, and Sakura Hall of Uozu city in Toyama, Japan. The photo shown is at the beach of Japan Sea. Beyond the ocean is Korea. William, Jackson, & Eric are students of Ms. Kumiko Imamura.

🎹 Kumiko Imamura, SMSW piano instructor, was on faculty at the International Junior Piano Institute in Uozu with Miyoko Lotto and gave a lecture titled "Unknown History of American Piano Music."
