Last month I spent a few days in New Orleans learning from some of the BEST in the baking business at Porsha Kimble's Brown Sugar Retreat and I had the time of my lifeeeee! Little known fact: I'm a self-taught baker. Every technique that I've learned over the past 4 years came from a YouTube video, a reel, a random social media comment, or majority of the time, seeing the final result of something and me just figuring out how to do it by myself. Because of that, I didn't know what to expect from a cake retreat, classes, or learning from multiple people in a short timeframe. But this experience was absolutely something I needed and has helped me understand the ways I needed to pivot in my business for sustainability. I learned a LOT and received a plethora of amazing ideas (or confirmation on existing ones) that will help me start the next phase of Suga's journey in these culinary streets. I just want to thank Porsha Kimble BREE's CAKES for all of the knowledge and wisdom that yall dropped on us at the last BSR. I know how frustrating this business can be but yall never let it deter you from always giving back, dropping gems, and being teachers and LEADERS in this industry and we truly appreciate you all. Truly.

4 has been a special number for me for a long time and I already see how year 4 is shaping up to be something difficult but special.

So with all of that being said..... be on the lookout for some new things from The Suga Shoppe! New products and offerings, a renewed focus on things that I already do, and finally, CLASSES!

To all of you that have been with me on this journey from the beginning, THANK YOU! Yall have held me all the way down and let me do whatever I want and I love yall for that 😁😂. To my new supporters that I have gained along the way, thank you too! Because without you I would not have grown into what I am today. 🫶🏽
