Jazz Ensemble - Students in grades 7 to 12 join together to experience jazz ensemble playing and learn jazz improvisation skills with professional musicians and educators. The ensemble is open to ALL woodwind, brass, strings, percussion, guitar, bass and piano students, and performs for the public each semester at the PYCO School of Music Recital Hall.

Adult Jazz Program - Taking place on Sunday evenings at PYCO School of Music, the Adult Jazz Program welcomes adults of all musical levels and backgrounds who play ANY woodwind, brass or string instruments, as well as rhythm section instruments (drum set, bass, guitar, piano, vibes). Participants will have the opportunity to play and learn jazz and improvisation in a fun and supportive atmosphere, coached by professional musicians.

Chamber Woodwinds - The PYCO School of Music Chamber Woodwinds program is designed to challenge woodwind players in both smaller (Duet and Trio) and larger Chamber Music settings to build musicianship and leadership in students in grades 8 to 12.

Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra - The Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra offers opportunities for string, woodwind, brass, percussion and harp players in grades 4 to 12. PYCO is comprised of a full symphonic orchestra in addition to various ensembles, giving young musicians a variety of opportunities to pursue their love of musical performance.

It is with deep sadness that we share that oboe teacher Holly White passed away on Monday, April 12th. Holly was an extraordinary person. She was kind, giving, and courageous, and will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her. She faced tremendous health struggles over the years but always remained positive, loving and generous.

As a memorial tribute to her devotion to teaching and to honor her heroic life, we will name Room 106 at the PYCO School of Music the "Holly White Studio" with a plaque at the entrance. We hope Holly's example of courage and generosity will inspire all of us to be better people.
