Dollar Zone Expanding in Elm Terrace Shopping Center
The Wheeling Ben Franklin Crafts store will combine with the Dollar Zone and become known as Dollar Zone Plus, effective January 1, 2015. Dollar Zone Plus store and will be located in the space of the Ben Franklin Crafts store next to the Elm Terrace Deli.
The new store will feature all the categories of the Dollar Zone store and many from the iconic Ben Franklin Crafts store. The new layout for the Dollar Zone products will make for a much easier shopping experience for customers. All of the current products will be a part of the new store as well as many new items and expanded departments. Many Ben Franklin Crafts store items will continue to be offered, including: Framing, floral, school and office, kids’ crafts, craft paints and spray paints, glues, wood, sewing notions, ribbon by the bolt, Swan Creek candles, candle lamps, miniature lights, Styrofoam, memorial accessories, Ben Heggy Chocolates, and more.
A remodel will take place during the month of January along with a clearance sale starting January 7th. Starting January 7th the former Ben Franklin Crafts will hold a store wide clearance sale. Every item in the store will be 20% off the lowest marked price, including custom framing orders and the already 50% off Christmas merchandise. This discount will be applied until January 14th. A grand re-opening will take place after the remodel and move is complete.
The new Dollar Zone Plus store will continue to be locally owned by Pete and Paul Newmeyer and they look forward to continuing the long lasting relationship they have had with the Wheeling and Elm Grove communities. The 10,000 square foot store will continue to employ approximately 15-20 employees.
Dollar Zone Plus will provide a great shopping experience for everyone. Shoppers can find thousands of $1.00 items from food, party, hardware, cleaning products, toys, pets, bath and body, kitchen, school, and candy departments, to name a few. Helium and latex balloons will be available along with gift bags and 2/$1.00 greeting cards. An expanded candy department including Ben Heggy’s fine chocolates will satisfy any sweet tooth.
Dollar Zone Plus will carry a very large selection of seasonal merchandise and silk flowers. Custom floral arrangements and memorials will be available for ordering. The custom frame shop and expanded ready-made frames will protect and enhance works of art. Dollar Zone Plus will carry numerous items for school projects and school assignments. Special orders will be available for items that are no longer readily available.
