Let me put to rest the rumors that are going around. I have NOT nor intend to sell my catering business nor my restaurant business. The owner of the building that I rent for my catering business has "decided to do something different" with it thus I am moving to a different location for that. All business operations will continue as normal for catering, same name, different location.

As far as my restaurant, the Whigham Cafe, we are still in business! No one has purchased this nor will they!!!!! If and when Mr. Knight decides to sell this building, or I decide to move my cafe/restaurant business to a different location I will update everyone.

To all of our loyal customers and friends! Thank you for all of your support and we look forward to continuing to serve you!

Dinner at the plantation...
Appetizers: Brie in puff pastry with fig jam and toasted walnuts, Dunwoody dip and cheese board.
Spring salad with D's dressing
Dinner:
Chicken and Beef Kabob
Bacon wrapped quail with mushroom and white wine sauce
Roasted Broccoli
Quinoa with grilled onion, carrots and asparagus
Homemade buttermilk biscuits!
Dessert is homemade sourcream pound cake with fruit and creamy whipped topping!

Breakfast:
Mini breakfast quiche, bacon, creamy grits, fresh fruit, banana nut bread and blueberry muffins.

It was a great weekend!

Appetizers: Homemade guacamole and grilled deer sausage with Mustard horseradish sauce.
Dinner:
Spring salad with strawberries, roasted pecans and feta with my homemade vinaigrette dressing.
Grilled chicken, bacon wrapped stuffed deer backstrap, Quinoa, grilled asparagus, baked sweet potatoes.
Dessert: Homemade Tiramisu

Chicken and wild rice soup, zucchini and chewy bars.

Another great meal at the plantation!
Baked Brie in puff pastry with sautéed apples and roasted pecans for appetizer. Baby Arugula Salad with figs, red onion, toasted pecans and goat cheese crumbles with homemade Balsamic dressing. Dinner was grilled beef tenderloin with homemade horsey sauce and aujuis, bacon wrapped quail, mashed cauliflower and grilled broccoli, carrots and onion. Dessert was vanilla pound cake layers with vanilla, chocolate and cookies and cream ice cream!

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore. You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend...

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially this past year. Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient….. and hopefully more of us will stick around!
