Some good news!

Great news for I-80 westbound drivers in Morris County! 🎉 All three lanes are expected to reopen this Saturday, June 14, 11 days ahead of schedule!

To make this happen:
From Monday, (June 9) through Thursday morning (June 12): One of the two open westbound lanes will close overnight (10 PM - 6 AM) near Exit 34B for barrier removal and repaving. At least one lane will stay open.
Friday night, June 13: I-80 westbound will close and detour for final paving and restriping.
I-80 Eastbound: Two lanes reopened May 21, and all lanes are still on track to reopen by June 25.

REMINDER: Speed limits are 45 mph (westbound) and 40 mph (eastbound) in the work zones. Please SLOW DOWN and drive safely!

Although the 3-day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, Memorial Day, celebrated now on the last Monday in May, is a solemn day on which we are should honor and remember those who have died while serving in the U.S. military. Its origins go back the the American Civil War, when communities would decorate the graves of fallen soldiers with flowers.
