Over the weekend, we had the pleasure of participating in the Georgia Bridal & Wedding Expo in Atlanta! It was an amazing experience engaging in conversations about the unique offerings of our venue.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of exhibiting at the @blackweddingexperience and wow! It was a great success! We were so excited to meet all the couples and their support systems. The highlight of my experience was a couple literally brainstormed with me at the booth about more ways to enhance our business and I loved every minute of them pouring into our business in that way! The floral arrangements were done by my mother @veliciaandcompany We are more than just a venue! We offer decor, floral arrangements, rentals, and more. Hello Followers! I wanted to introduce myself. I am Whitney, co-owner of The Ivy on the Plains. By day I’m a Physician Assistant in the Emergency Room and by day, night, weekend I am the co-owner of the The Ivy on the Plains (IYKYK) with my mother, Velicia. We have been in the event industry for years as decorators and this year we took a leap of faith and stepped into the venue sector. We kinda fell into this industry because I begged my Mom to decorate my wedding because the budget was not allowing room for decorators or event planners at the time. I handed over my little binder I made from Pinterest and trusted her to make it happen because duh my Mom is a superhero. I walked out in total awe, feeling like wow this could be in a magazine. Now boom, we decorate weddings. Lol. This was in 2016..we have stepped it up since then. Yes I still have a day job and no I don’t know how I do it all lol. I have a cute little daughter named Harper (see previous post lol). I rest my case. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Fun fact I do not like to talk on camera but here I am in a new space that requires me to do new things!
