Spotlight on this Earth Day wedding, we’ve been waiting a year to share!

Jenny & Ben wanted to create a natural, earthy statement to set the tone for their Earth Day wedding on April 22, 2023. We love leaning into a theme, especially when designing and imagining an es**rt display! This was just one of the many fine details that made this day so special! 🧚🏻‍♂️🌱✨

Since we have literally never shown our faces on here 🫣 we thought it’s about time for a formal introduction and share little about the two of us behind not only these instagram posts, but the entire Damselfly Designs world. So, hello!!! from Creative Directors Caroline and Ashley.

We work so amazingly well together- true partners in flower crime! Together, the two of us field your inquires, conduct the consultations and write proposals. We also are your point of contact throughout the entire planning process. When your big day is upon us we are the ones making your floral recipes, ordering the flowers, directing and managing our staff of extremely talented designers- while also designing ourselves- and finally, on the day of, we are there onsite to to oversee and ensure a flawless setup and to experience the vision come to life!

Caroline has a long history with Damselfly, starting all the way back in 2004! She has worked in the wedding floral industry in Los Angeles and Kansas City before making her way back to New York and Damselfly 3 years ago. Did you know her mom, Margaret is also our lead designer? Flowers run deep in this family! She is married to her husband Stephen, has two polar opposite personality cats, Ranga and Yenn, loves a good sci-fi story, her morning coffee and savoring the quiet moments.

Ashley has been with Damselfly for 5 years, has been in the wedding industry for the last 12, while her experience with flowers goes back to her first after school job at 16 years old. She has two boys ages 9 and 6, married to her husband Frank, and has a crazy pug puppy named Rey. Ashley prefers mountains over the beach, a cold glass of sav blanc, reading, and going to bed

We can’t promise you’ll always see our faces around here all the time, but just know we’re working hard and we love what we do!

Trend alert!! We’re seeing an increasing trend of smaller sized florals for your wedding party. So let’s talk bouquets vs posies!

A bouquet is typically larger and is choc full of a variety of different flowers, colors (when necessary) and greenery.

A posy is a small, petite handheld. It often is monochromatic and we love a single-floral variety, for example sweet peas or astilbe.

So what do think? Team bouquet or team posy?!
