Allow me to re-introduce myself....
I am the Owner, CEO and Head Design at Angela's Events.
7 years ago, I started this business as a hobby. The hobby grew into a passion. The passion grew into a small success, that made me happy. And in return, I radiated that happiness back to the tons of clients I served throughout CNY. It was a machine, an engine... the more creative I got, the more I satisfied my clients, the happier they were, the more creativity flowed and so on. And then, there was a ruthless effort to stomp out that flame, that creativity. For about a year I pushed through, and put on a smile while behind the scenes I was struggling personally. I had to take a break. Not because I wanted to. No. The ONLY thing bringing me peace and joy, other than my 3 children was this business. I had to, because I was in no place to take someone's Wedding Day or Special Event in my hands. I couldn't take on that responsibility, that I take so personally and so passionately and give it the 100% that is standard from AE. Moving from our family home, was just 1 of many life altering events. I sat in my empty office, the office I built from the ground up, the office I met with so many clients and so many inspiring wedding colleagues and cried. "You'll start over. You'll rebuild it all" were my friends attempts at encouragement, but my sadness and devastation wouldn't let me hear their words.
With no creative outlet to purge into Weddings, I had to move that energy somewhere. Enter the "Disco Dollhouse" mine and my children's fresh start apartment. Named for my Disco Ball theme and pink living room with old big white trim windows that made me say "it looks like a little dollhouse" And just like that, the machine, the engine started moving again. As songs like I Can Do it With a Broken Heart, Beautiful Pain, the entire Pink Friday 2 album and Walk blared in the background I poured everything I couldn't pour into a wedding into the Disco Dollhouse. Flower Walls and Creative Ceiling Installs, Neon lights and Vintage finds. Paint chosen with precision. Every detail a story. You'll see in this post where I'm at in the creative process.
And I'm ready to pour back into YOU. CNY. The same, and quite possibly better services from Angela's Events that you have come to know.... Event Design and planning. But as we stay ever moving to expand, grow, challenge ourselves and never dull the creative sparkle, I am now offering permanent installs like those I perfected in my own home. Challenge me. Inspire me. Bring me an idea to create.
