In Environmental Science students are 'vermicomposting' with worms! Students are creating individual worm farms from recycled materials. The worm farms will compost food waste and create worm casting that can be used as a natural fertilizer to grow plants (future project). Food waste from the cafeteria will be used to feed the worms. Each Wednesday, coined WORMY WEDNESDAY, students will feed their colony and conduct colony maintenance. Students will document their worm-rearing journey by taking weekly progression photos and putting them into a comprehensive written lab report. Success will be determined by the number of offspring that were produced, the health of their colony, and the amount of worm casting produced.

The High School Career Prep class attended a Career Fair in Denison on Thursday 11/9/2023. Students dressed to impress and approached hiring companies with questions about the company and available positions. The purpose of attending the Career Fair was for students to gain experience talking to hiring employers and to learn about career opportunities in the Texoma area.

We have added two raised vegetable growing beds at the WHS Agricultural Department !! ~ we will be including students from our STC classes to help us grow vegetables for our Whitesboro Foodservice Crew to use for our schools!
