Trivia Night! Friday, July 8, 2022
Family friendly fun in a safe environment for Veterans, families of Veterans, and their guests.

Not your typical trivia! Dick always makes it fun, you'll learn some new random tidbits... and even when we don't know the answers everyone is always laughing (at ourselves, at each other, WITH each other!)

Pot luck supper prior if you want to participate, eat at 7pm.
Trivia usually starts about 7:30-8pm.

06/23/2022

Come join us tomorrow night! We will be serving burgers, your choice of fries or onion rings, and tea! ($8 for single, $10 for double)

We will open at 6pm tonight, like usual.

The sidewalk has been shoveled off. The roads are far better already, and still some more melting hours before open.
The inside lane on Fairway from SWPkwy to the Legion, both directions, is pretty clear.

Please, do be careful. There are still some very slick spots out there, all over the area!

Opening at 5pm today, Sunday Feb 13, 2022. Come watch the 'Commercials' (haha) in a safe place. (Pot luck snacks if inte...

Hoping everyone stays warm and safe!

We had a wonderful time opening for the 2021 American Legion Riders Legacy Run as a cooling location on August 23rd. (National AL Commander, National Auxiliary President, and legion family members from around the country)

03/15/2021

OPEN!!! Tuesday-Friday at 6pm
With Governor Abbott's signing of GA34, we were able to reopen.

We still strongly suggest smart social distancing, & please don't come if you are feeling ill. Let's help keep each other healthy while enjoying the fellowship!

10/29/2020

All staff members and patients will be transferred to the new location so that Veterans can keep the same providers.

06/26/2020

Effective at noon June 26, Governor Abbott has again closed Texas bars. There is no mention of a time-frame in his order.

We do not believe American Legions, or other Veteran and Fraternal organizations, were the problem. Unfortunately, we all now are forced to share in the burdens of the acts of others.

This, too, shall pass.

Until we are able to be together again - stay safe! Remember not to let yourself become emotionally isolated, and to reach out and check on others through safe measures such as phonecalls and messages.

The Governor's order:

06/01/2020

It's here! The Post will reopen Tuesday, June 2 at 6pm.
Activities will be limited in order to comply with State rules/policies.

Biggest changes:

- No more than 6 people at a table, and groupings at least 6 feet apart. Tables MAY NOT be moved.

- Patrons are to be seated (no standing around, wandering around, etc).

- The bar top is CLOSED. No ordering, standing, sitting, hanging out at the bar. Pretend it is infected and stay clear! 😁

- Interactive games & activities are currently 'closed'

- Fans will remain ON, so if you get cold easily, bring a jacket

- Signing in Guests: the guest book will be with the bartender to limit potential contamination. When you come in, simply announce to the bartender the name(s) of any guests, and they will be signed in under you by the bartender.

- No Friday cooknights scheduled yet, but we are working on it

- We've all missed each other. Air-hugs and air high-fives are GOOD and highly encouraged.

- Wearing a mask is not required. It is completely up to each individual, and we should all respect each others decisions on this.

Yes, it's going to be different, but we as a Post Family can do this! We all must work together to stay healthy, and help each other stay healthy.

Edit to add: we will have a few fabric masks available in case you've wanted one but not yet located one. :)

05/21/2020

Covid19 Re-opening plan: Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 6pm.

Governor Abbot has announced that 'bars' can reopen on May 22, with certain restrictions. To be sure we have time to appropriately reopen in accordance with the restrictions/policies set forth, we are not going to rush into it. Barring any unforeseen issues, we will be reopening on June 2, 2020.

Yes, things will be somewhat different in order to follow the restrictions and guidelines that have been set forth by the State, but we can still come together and enjoy each other's company in a responsible manner.

Upon returning please be sure to read the Post Customer Guidelines that will be clearly posted on the entrance door, in the foyer, and likely a few other places. These will explain what the Post is required to do as a 51% license holder, as well as what is expected from Members and their guests ("Customers").

Remember: Post 120 is a volunteer run Post, with most of those volunteers having full time jobs. We are excited and looking forward to being together again & want a successful reopening for all - but don't want to break our volunteers in getting there. ;-)

04/27/2020

Hoping everyone is well, staying safe, and checking in on each other. We know several have been staying in touch in a variety of ways. Keep it up!!!

Governor Abbott's news conference today (Apr 27) made it clear bars are not to reopen yet. While our Post is not "a bar", we have a liquor license issued by the State of Texas. This means we fall under the State rules for the reopening of bars.

Per the news conference, if things go well with Phase 1 of OpenTexas, then Phase 2 will start as early as May 18. Phase 2 will allow reopening of even more businesses than will be allowed to reopen beginning May 4.

We miss everyone, and are looking forward to returning to the camaraderie that comes with being able to gather at the Post.

03/31/2020

The Post will continue to follow guidelines and orders by local, state, and national officials. We don't know how long this is going to last, but we are all in this together.

Don't forget to reach out to others. A quick phonecall, text message, etc - let them know you care. Let them know that while they may be home by themselves, they are not alone!!!

03/19/2020

Yes, we will be following the orders of Local, State, and National authorities. At this time, that means The Post will be closed at least through April 3, 2020.

Please, take a few minutes here and there to reach out to those for whom you have contact information. See how they are doing. Let them know you are thinking about them. Not just physically, but emotionally as well. A short phone call, a quick text, or a private message through Facebook can mean so much, especially at times like these.

If you have Post business (AL, ALA, or SAL) that you need to discuss prior to reopening, or would like to be put on a reopen notification list, please leave a message on the Post answering machine if you do not otherwise have a direct contact. 940-696-2177

We'd like to reassure you that the Post itself, and the answering machine there, will be frequently checked on.

Just as our great Veterans have always had - and will always have - to do, we as a Post family will evolve with these strange times and situations we are faced with. Until we can hug, laugh, and enjoy each other in person again, stay safe - and know you are loved.

03/16/2020

Given the guidelines put forth on March 16, 2020 from the White House Coronavirus Task Force, the Post will be closed at least through this week. The Executive Committee will reassess this weekend, taking into consideration the most-recent-at-that-time guidelines, recommendations, and orders put forth by National, State, and Local governments and experts.

This is not a decision made lightly, as we wanted to be a safe place for our Veterans to be able to ride this crisis out. However, we don't have the insight and knowledge of those that provided these guidelines, so we have to trust that it is the best course of action.

Chances are our Legion family will not be left untouched by this virus, but we hope that we can minimize the spread, particularly to those at high risk of serious complications.

We would rather look back in hindsight and see it as an over-reaction than realize we did not act quickly enough.

CALL THE POST AND LEAVE A MESSAGE IF YOU NEED US!
940-696-2177
Messages will be checked.
