It’s hard to believe that a year of planning went bye in a blink of an eye! Jaylyn and Zach are two of the most genuine people I’ve ever met! Throughout the planning process, we kept going back to guest experience and how their guests will experience their wedding day - they wanted to make sure everyone had tons of fun! From a well stocked bar at The Vail, a beautiful charcuterie board during cocktail hour, surprise dance floor elements from Black Tie, late night McDonalds, and a confetti exit - I would say Mission Accomplished! 😎

Emily and Cale 🤍 Month of Coordination by Melody

One of my favorite things about Emily and Cale’s planning was how clear Emily’s vision was for her wedding day. She knew how she wanted to spend her day, how she wanted her guests to feel, and asked the Blush Events team to help fill in the gaps for everything else.

It’s common for brides to reach decision fatigue at a certain point of wedding planning. Having a trusted professional by your side to delegate decisions to or ask guidance keeps things streamlined!

Me:
- Steaming your dress 👗
- Putting your grandma’s rosary onto your bouquet 📿 💐
- Making sure wedding details are ready for photographers
- Making sure getting ready area is clear of trash/clutter
- Confirming hair and makeup artists are running on time
- Prepping everyone for next item on the timeline
- Keeping everyone calm 🤍

You:
- Hanging out with your best girls while you get hair and makeup done
- Playing bananagrams during your downtime 🍌
- Drinking mimosas 🍹
- Mentally preparing for this major step in your relationship with your partner 🤍

In case you were wondering, wedding days don’t just magically happen. 😉

First Touch pictures with Hannah and Drew 🌸

If you are wanting to keep things more traditional and not do a First Look, you should consider exchanging personal vows during a First Touch! Your planner and photographer will help get you and your partner arranged so no sneak peeks accidentally happen 👀 This is a great way to shake off any nerves while still maintaining the surprise for the walk down the aisle.

During our timeline meetings with clients, we walk through what adding on moments like a First Touch can do to your day from a timeline perspective and from an experience perspective. We talk through what options are best for you personally (I.e. are you highly anxious and need options for settling nerves? Or are you cool as a cucumber? 🥒) We don’t have unlimited time on the wedding day so it’s my job to help you prioritize and make sure your day is executed exactly as you want it!

Let’s talk about Wedding (or life) Overwhelm.

I’m not sure what’s been in the air lately, but it seems like many of my clients and vendor friends have been hit with heavy circumstances that force them to take a pause. Personally, my family is in the process of moving homes (which is overwhelming with toddlers) along with all the bumps that come up during transition.

To my fellow Type A reading this: In case no one has told you today, Rest is Good. Rest is Healthy. Rest is Okay.

Emails can wait.
Texts can be answered tomorrow.

Wedding Planning is important but it’s not the only thing going on in our lives which makes it okay if it becomes second (or third, or fourth, or sixth) priority for a while.

Our timeline meetings are in depth, detailed, and make sure we capture everything single little thing (yes, even who’s bringing food throughout the day and who is taking your bouquet home at night). Meet Melody!!!!!!

Melody has been my right hand gal since I had the crazy idea to start Blush Events in 2021. She started taking her own weddings in 2023 and is the calming presence every bride deserves on their wedding day!

Here’s a few more fun facts about Mel!
🤍 She is an incredible mom to 3 sweet babies 👶🏼
🤍 Favorite drink is a margarita on the rocks with salt 🍹
🤍 Her favorite part of the wedding day is the quiet moment with the bride right before she walks down the aisle

We had SO much fun picking out every perfectly pink detail at Ashley and Andrew’s wedding. We asked Andrew multiple times “Is this too much pink?” and Andrew was always on board with more! Ashley is the ultimate girly girl and I love that they leaned HARD into her vision of a perfectly pink wedding day!

Best way to incorporate a dog in your wedding is to have someone not affiliated with the wedding be their handler! They will need to be able to bring the dog to and from the ceremony and potentially help get the dog down the aisle.

A moment for Alyssa 🤍

One of my favorite parts of looking through wedding galleries is seeing how carefree and in the moment my brides are. There’s a lot of time, energy, and money put into all the beautiful details of a wedding day and I pride myself on building the trust with my clients so they know their vision will executed.

Intentional moments don’t just happen on your wedding day.

Before the ceremony, Elizabeth wanted to spend my 30 minute “hideaway” buffer time in prayer and wanted to especially have time with her Grandma. We came up with the idea of saying a rosary during a planning meeting which fit their relationship.

Fast forward to wedding day, they only had time for a decade (part) of it but the intention of the moment was still there. I especially felt lucky to be there touching up Elizabeth’s dress and silently praying alongside them.

It’s not everyday I have the privilege to coordinate a wedding at my home parish (and where Mr Blush and I were married 4 years ago 😱) and helping celebrate Elizabeth and Robbie’s marriage was such a TREAT!

Getting Ready should be relaxing not chaotic. Here’s 3 tips to keep things peaceful:

💄Assign someone else to pick up coffee/breakfast/charcuterie board/bubbly etc. ideally, this person isn’t part of the bridal party so they have less getting ready to do
💄 Have everyone there at the beginning. Even the best made schedule can change! Help your hair and makeup artists out and keep their chairs full.
💄 Wedding Day Details (Invitation, Save the Date, lipstick, perfume, etc) need to be in their own box and ready to go for when the photographer arrives. Don’t be trying to find your lipstick at the bottom of your bag - keep it all separate and you’ll be your photographer’s favorite!

The Wedding Bubble 🫧 🤍

I give a speech to the bridal party and family at the rehearsal that essentially asks if they noticing anything going awry, they find me or my team and inform us NOT the couple.

My goal for your wedding day is to keep you in your wedding bubble 🫧. NOT worrying about vendors arriving, a change in the timeline, the weather, your 2nd cousin refusing to sit with your 3rd cousin once removed, etc.

I will never promise a perfect wedding day because frankly, it doesn’t exist! What I can promise is that my team and I will work our hardest to keep you in the moment of your wedding day and keep distractions to a minimum.

“I want my mom to be a guest at my wedding”.

I was doing a consultation with a bride last night and this 👆 sums up my passion behind wedding planning. Your wedding day will forever be what you and your family reminisce on for years to come - Moms (and dads, grandparents, aunts, and uncles) deserve to be fully present throughout your day. They should be wiping away happy tears as you walk down the aisle - not calling the party bus to see where they are. They should be catching up with friends they haven’t seen in 10 years - not making sure that the caterer is ready for dinner to be served. Watching you and your HUSBAND during your first dance - not moving your cards and gifts to a secure location.

I could go on and on. Hiring Blush Events to run your day is a gift to both you AND your families. It’s insurance that someone has it handled and is making sure everything that is supposed to happen, is!

When selecting your vendors, it’s super important that you’re exceptionally comfortable around them. I don’t quite know how to say this other than I help the majority of my brides get into their dresses (someone’s gotta cupcake it for you -IFYKYK)!

I take a lot of pride in being a safe space for my couples - whether your well intentional future mother in law is suddenly super opinionated or if your sweet guests decide to bring their kids unexpectedly, I can take it and handle it appropriately (even if it’s just being a listening ear).

Weddings bring out a lot of emotions. Make a point to find your chill vendor team!

Whew is it Wedding Season or is it wedding season? 😅 😮‍💨 I unintentionally stepped back and took a social media break but things have been busier than ever at Blush Events! Next weekend kicks off our first wedding of the fall and I can’t wait to be a small part of my 9 fall couples love stories 🤍 If you need me, I’ll be up to my eyeballs reviewing timelines (for the millionth time) and updating budgets!
