A huge congratulations to our talented WSU Tech Culinary students and faculty at NICHE for winning Best Sweet Treat at this year’s Death by Chocolate event at Exploration Place!

🍷 Meet Nelson A. Escalante, Our Wine Expert for A Perfect Pairing 🍷

We’re excited to welcome Nelson Escalante, a Wichita native and Wichita State University graduate, to guide us through the evening with his extensive expertise in food and beverage pairings.

With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Nelson has held roles as a Bar Manager, Corporate Trainer, and Food & Beverage Manager. His dedication to his craft has earned him certifications as a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and a Certified Specialist of Wine and Spirits through the Society of Wine Educators.

Currently, Nelson works as the Area Sales Manager for Wine & Spirits at LDF Sales & Distributing. In his free time, he enjoys coaching soccer, serving as a Board Member for the American Institute of Wine & Food Society and Guadalupe Clinic, and spending quality time with his family.
