I’ve been back two weeks and I’m still pinching myself. It was an absolute honor to be trusted with this beautiful day. More outstanding than the gorgeous scenery were the incredible people I was privileged enough to meet and spend time with. The genuine love and support for these two was so powerful and felt by all.

I’ve traveled many places and it’s always a challenge but this opportunity pushed me in ways I’ve never experienced before and opened my eyes to what I am capable of. All decor shipped, florals put together on a small bistro style table in a penthouse airbnb, full planning without seeing the venue-it’s sounds crazy but it was incredible. Like a perfectly choreographed dance.

None of which would have been possible without the amazing help of two of my favorite people. Broc and Reg-thank you for traveling with me, supporting me when I felt I was failing, and reminding me to breathe and enjoy everything around me. I love you so very much 🖤

Happy Monday, friends! I will be out of office fulfilling my dreams of going to Europe while celebrating an amazing couple surrounded by dear friends. When I tell my soul needs this-my soul needs this. All non-emergent messages, texts, and emails will be answered next week before I ship off for the next adventure!

Hi friends! Whilst in conversation with a fellow wedding vendor the other day, she mentioned being nervous about the day-of coordinator she hired for her upcoming wedding because said coordinator hadn’t posted in quite some time. I am not said coordinator but the immediate sweat I broke out it in would make one think otherwise. Long story short, I just want y’all to know I’m very much still here and very much still doing all things weddings. ✌🏻 If you’ve been here since the beginning, you’ve heard me touch on this several times. I’m not the best at posting, I never will be. But I WILL be present on your day making sure everything is absolutely perfect-guaranteed. Much love, babes 🖤

We are so excited for our open house next weekend! We’ve had so many of you reach out and we cannot wait to see you all. In hopes to clear up any questions, we’ve added a description below of what to expect. Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions!

The venue will be set up to show two different layout options, indoor AND outdoor ceremony options, and every decor option we have. See several set ups and styles and play around with what we have out! We will have printed layout options, recommend vendor list, and general venue information sheets to take with you. Everything you will see is available here and always included in our wedding rentals. Enjoy some light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages while exploring all The Highlands has to offer!

You may think the most important decisions for your wedding are the venue, the dress or any multitude of vendors. However, the most important decisions at hand are who you choose to surround yourself with on your big day. You can book the most gorgeous space and fill it with the most gorgeous decor and hire the best vendors but at the end of the day, its those that surround you that will fill your memory of your day. Your bridal party should be those whom you trust most. Will you look back and remember being relaxed, loved and supported or stressed, annoyed and upset? Take in all considerations and choose a group of people that will protect your day as their own, you won’t regret it.

Being the director of The Highlands and also running my own planning company offers unique opportunities and conversations from multiple view points. One question I’m often asked, “When does someone ABSOLUTELY need a coordinator?” To which I reply, “ALWAYS.”

While this is my ultimate answer, there are certain situations that warrant a planner/coordinator more than others.

•Multiple location weddings
•Weddings on private/personal land
•Weddings at venues that do zero set up and/or don’t provide any necessities such as tables, chairs, linens etc.

Ultimately, there is never a “bad time” to hire a coordinator. Can your Aunt Carol make sure your cake is delivered? Sure. However, the day-of is made up of so many more critical moments beyond vendor drop off along with inevitable pop-up emergencies. Hiring the right planner/coordinator insures all that planning goes as planned.

A wedding day is made up of so many huge and obvious components. The dress, the venue, the photographer/videographer the food, etc. One that often is under appreciated is the layout. A well designed layout can be the most important item to so many weddings and without careful consideration-it can really determine how your night will go.

How many guests do we have vs how many the venue comfortably holds? Are we plating the meal or is it a buffet? Are there set hanging structures to the venue we must align with? How will the wedding party enter? Will we need to move anything for dancing? Which way will the sun come in at what time? So. Many. Factors.

Creating unique layouts that maximize your venue is always a top priority of mine. Countless hours go into curating a layout that makes sense from every angle. Which way the flow of guests needs to be, avoiding cluster spots, ensuring important items are seen/used-you name it, I’m thinking about it. Finding the perfect combination of how you see your day and what works well in your space is the key to a perfectly smooth day/night!
