Dearest flower friends, I have a big announcement for a change Free State Flora will be making in 2024! The shop on Douglas has been a dream come to life. My heart is filled with gratitude over the opportunity to fulfill that dream. I’ve met so many amazing people through this journey, and learned so much about entrepreneurship. I’ll forever be changed for the better by this experience. With that said, I am now choosing to pivot Free State Flora away from a traditional brick and mortar shop back to a studio based setup. Here is what won’t change; we will continue to serve our clients weddings and events, and we will still provide daily flower service. This transition will be good for the business by allowing us the ability to focus on our client’s events over running a store front. It’s also good for me as a mother, because I will better be able to provide for my boys financially and have plenty quality time with them. We will just no longer have a retail location. This decision is bittersweet for me, because I know that life is full of opportunities and growth. This transition will be for the best, but I hate to see the shop go too. I’ve grown quite fond of our space. Before we close the doors, we will be having a big sale on ALL of our retail goods. We will also have all of our dried flowers available for purchase by the bucket. This sale will run January 9th - 13th. Our shop will be open from 10am - 5pm. Clients with gift cards can use those at this sale or hold on to them for workshops down the road or call in orders. I want to sincerely thank anyone who came to our shop in the last three years, as well as all of our amazing clientele from the last 7 years. I am so grateful for the amazing small business owners that I have met, especially our local flower farmers. And most importantly the incredible staff I’ve had, thank you, Ari, Allie, Paige, Mason, Sylvia, Camille & Janice. Look for more updates in our stories in the weeks to come. #ictflowers

SHOP NEWS // Free State Flora is shifting gears. Our shop has officially been open for 2 years!! This is an awesome milestone for us, but having a standard florist model hasn’t been the best structure for us. We love our weddings and events, which take up a great deal of our time to plan and execute. So we are restructuring back into a studio space with special floral experiences each Sunday. This will allow us to reach more of you when you’re available and it will offer our team a better opportunity to focus with more flexibility in our schedules. We will still have our online shop open for deliveries, we just won’t have flower out on the table everyday. This should be a win for everyone.
