Let’s toast to the run we’ve had at Candela (Venue at The LUX). After 10 years (can you believe it’s been that long?), it’s time shut the door and move on to the next chapter. We are immensely grateful for the support and memories shared within our space. Thank you for being a part of it!

We are writing to address our venue's handling of a situation at last night’s show.

Our primary goal is to provide a venue space for quality entertainment experiences for attendees, and any miscommunication or misunderstanding in this regard is deeply regrettable.

We want to make it unequivocally clear that any insinuation of racism or prejudice in our actions is deeply concerning and not reflective of the values of our establishment. We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all guests, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity, or background.

Regarding the incident in question, it's important to clarify that it was never our goal for the show to be stopped entirely. Our request to lower music volume aimed to ensure all guests' comfort, in addition to maintaining professional courtesy to the two separate businesses who also operate on the same floor. This request would have been made regardless of the type or genre of music being performed. We understand that different individuals have varying preferences when it comes to sound level, and our intention was to maintain a balanced and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

We value the trust and support of our community and will continue striving to create a positive and welcoming environment for all.

FINAL FRIDAY | CLOSING NIGHT: Expressions by Aaron Patton:

This series of photographs is my way of pushing the boundaries of what a photograph can be. Using my camera's sensor as a canvas and light as a brush in the most literal way, these "paintings" are an homage to the abstract expressionists. I've never been much of a painter, but this is a medium I understand.
