From the bottom of our robot hearts, we can’t begin to thank you all for everything we shared this past weekend. THANK YOU to everyone who was a part of our Burn, and for all the beautiful contributions you all made. We had a safe, radically wild event that will surely go down in the history books as the start of something bigger than all of us - an inspirational evening of love, bonding, forming new relationships, cathartic release, and building upon the foundations of the relationships we hold near and dear; as well as the pouring of brand new bases of beautiful friendships. Together, we will forge new meanings to what love, community, and mutual aid look like to strive towards a better, brighter future for us all through art, inclusivity, and communal effort.

It takes an army, but this army will break barriers through love, not war. Thank you all, so so much.

It is with great pleasure & honor to present the official flow group to spearhead our Conclave, just before the Pig Burns, Omnifire Collective! This eclectic and talented group of flow artists draws from many backgrounds and locations, making for a wonderful raving band of performers of the highest caliber! The wonderful Nikki Cook will be running our flow circles; so for all our folks coming to spin, find her for a quick rundown on safety & spinning etiquette and then join in the flow!

Howdy y'all - we are just now 3 days away from our magnificent night of Burning Ham!

Just a few reminders - this is a BYO event, although the Burning Ham organization may have some drinks to share if y'all are thirsty. Bring a reusable metal/silicone/plastic cup and silverware for food & drink! We strive to stay as LNT as possible. Bring camping gear for sleep(if you plan on doing that), and warm clothes for the evening. Finally, remember to bring your partying/closed toe shoes - the grounds are very mean to bare feet, just like the playa - so make sure you keep shoes on all night long. DJ decks will be open during the afternoon and evening, so if you would like to play, simply buy a ticket at our Evenbrite link and find Jarod Nizen onsite for a slot. We can't wait to party with y'all!

Howdy y’all!! We’d like to give a big burner welcome and a shout out to all the new folks in here - thank you all for showing interest in our little burn. We’ve gotten a ton of shout outs from our beautiful community, and we just want to say thank you to all of you who are thinking of us & keeping us in your mentions!

Gifting is an integral part of Burning Man and its subsequent community, Burning Ham - therefore; while you can do as you please while at our Burn, we encourage all of y'all to get into the spirit of gifting and bringing joy to others through decommodified love & sincere gestures. Here are these two said principles - we sincerely hope to see them observed; and for everyone to have an amazing time out there! The Pig burns in 9 days. )'(

Burning Ham is devoted to acts of gift giving. The value of a gift is unconditional. Gifting does not contemplate a return or an exchange for something of equal value.

In order to preserve the spirit of gifting, our community seeks to create social environments that are unmediated by commercial sponsorships, transactions, or advertising. We stand ready to protect our culture from such exploitation. We resist the substitution of consumption for participatory experience.

Howdy folks - this is a very special announcement to us over here on the Burning Ham team. We'd like to proudly present our only 'official' unofficial DJ of Burning Ham 2021, DJ NORTH - Jesse is an absolute legend of a DJ, coming straight from Minneapolis for our little Burn here in North Carolina. He has graced the playa with his masterful mixing of house music to camps such as The White Bronco, Camp Konception, and many more renegade sets across the desert, ranging from strange geodesic domes surrounded by dancing bodies to the tops of roving mutant vehicles. His house sets are eccentric, using the best of the best of current and retro house music vibes, specializing in 80's funk. His last curated event, FOMO, may have been the last real party the world has seen - until now. We can't wait to host DJ NORTH on our little version of the playa, and we can't wait for you to experience one of his sets for the first time. Get ready for a house music experience like none you've ever seen before!

Howdy folks! We've got an announcement paired with a Principle today. Burning Ham will be heavily focused on being true to a Leave No Trace event - this means we as a community aim to have as little impact on the land as possible. So, we are encouraging all our guests to bring several items - a re-usable, insulated mug or cup to drink water, beer, or spirits out of. Doing so is very eco-friendly, and will allow us to avoid unnecessary waste in the form of plastic cups - not to mention crossing off being Radically Self-Reliant and Leaving No Trace! :) Burning Ham is a BYO event, but some amenities will be gifted to the community ;)

That being said, we have some exciting news as well - a dear friend of ours, EJ McGonigle, will be graciously cooking a hearty dinner for our community on Saturday evening - his famous curry will be made for all who are hungry to enjoy, so ensure you bring a camping bowl and utensil to eat out of as the sun goes down and the chill begins to set in. This will be a vegetarian dish, and will ensure all with dietary preferences can enjoy a warm meal so all will be ready for the night of activities ahead. So come one, come all, and come hungry!

Alrighty y'all - so just as much as we like to party and have a wonderful time, we are focused on building a supportive community. Larry Harvey himself so graciously outlined these 10 Principles officially in 2004 as guidelines to the Regional Network of Burns beginning to pop up all over the country - but the ethos and culture they bring are fully the vision we are trying to cultivate with Burning Ham.

We will go into more depth about these principles over the next two weeks as we approach our actual Burn, but for now, they are as follows: Radical Inclusion, Gifting, Decommodification, Radical Self-Reliance, Radical Self-Expression, Communal Effort, Civic Responsibility, Leaving No Trace, Participation, and Immediacy! This leaves us with a solid foundation on what to focus on when curating these intimate and wonderful events. As we proceed, we will learn more about these principles and explore what they will mean to our community!

We cannot wait to see you all. The Pig Burns in 12 days!

Hey y'all! It's wonderful to see so many new faces on our page - welcome, and thank you for showing interest in our little regional Burn! We would just like to get a little more familiar with y'all and describe a bit more about our event.

Make sure y'all get your tickets soon, as we are expecting a big old crowd to share some wonderful experiences with. As we get closer and closer to our Burn night, we will be sharing updates on the performances we have in store, the general what to expect aspect of things, what to bring, and how to Burn safely. We are so excited to meet y'all and forge some memories through fire and expression.

Secondly, we are just so excited to bring such a wonderful event to our southeast region of NC! We over at Nized Up Productions are doing our very best to create an annual decompression regional Burn event to satisfy the need for communal unity and a creative outlet for our local artists and general scene here in NC.

Howdy y'all - it's with great pleasure that we are able to officially announce our third annual Burning Ham event! We're aiming to blow last year out of the desert by improving this year exponentially!!

That being said; for those of y'all who are unfamiliar with what we are or what we do, here's a quick rundown - Burning Ham began in late summer 2018 when some friends were missing folks who attended Burning Man in Nevada, so they threw a mini burn in their backyard. That burn attracted more folks the following year, and in 2020, a small, covid considerate event was hosted at a private location, bringing together some wonderful people to celebrate life and love and everything Burning Man stands for, only down here in the southeast.

This year, as we move forward through these uncertain times, we at Nized Up Productions & the Burning Ham crew are looking to provide a radically inclusive party drenched in fire & performances from some of the best in the business. Here's a few photos from the previous Burning Ham, just to give you a good idea on what it might be like.
