When I was a teen, I loved the last vampire books by Christopher Pike. This series followed Alisa, a 5000 year old vampire. I believe it was somewhere in Thirst 2, where Alisa had her heart weighed, straight egyptian style, for those that don't know where the weighing of the heart comes from. Christopher wrote this whole part beautifully, and the visuals always stuck with me. This was perhaps the first true still life I ever planned to do. Now, 20 years ago I got stuff to do it, and didn't like it. Many many years ago I got different stuff to do it, and just never did. However I'm positive had I done it then, it wouldn't be as good as it is now. I feel I've grown a lot in experimenting especially with lighting. This is slightly different than the original vision. But I think much more striking.
