Fall season is my Super Bowl and I’ve been training for it all summer (aka ordering and organizing)

But honestly, time flies when you’re prepping to design 9 weddings in a 2 month span this fall season! I cannot tell you how excited I am for all of my fall couples- you all have been such a joy to work with and I’ve been counting down the days for each of you 🥹

Long studio days (and nights) await, but I couldn’t be more excited for the designs ahead.

The definition of working 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 a ceremony space! What a joy it was to design alongside permanent ferns, huge framing Crepe Myrtles and cascading vines on the arbor.

These urns were huge in person but so fun to fill in on-site, I hope to be able to do it again soon!

There are two significant times in life when florals are designed just for you: your wedding day and your funeral. Think about that for a moment. There’s beauty and sadness in that truth. Yes, your partner might grab a pre-made bouquet from a flower shop, your kids might gift you with bouquets on birthdays, but flowers crafted just for 𝘺𝘰𝘶? Most people only get that twice in their lifetime. 🥹 It makes me emotional to think about sometimes, but for me, it makes wedding flowers so much more special.

Ready to 𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓅 into forever? Here are a few not-so-basic tips about starting the inquiry process with a floral designer.

Be prepared for a welcome call/planning session before getting any kind of quote or proposal. Do your research beforehand, and reach out when you are serious about booking a florist and paying a deposit in the coming weeks.

You should feel confident and excited when signing your contract. Don’t feel bad about asking any questions! Book with someone you feel comfortable with and trust.

Pinterest is a great way to visually communicate colors, floral varieties and style preferences, but do not expect a floral designer to “copy” another’s design stem by stem. Instead, we combine key elements of your inspiration into a design that flows with your vision, season and our style. What you’ll end up with is a wedding that is beautiful and uniquely yours.

And finally, no two floral proposals are the same. The individual preferences of flower varieties, wholesalers, mechanics, labor, design recipes and even how many weddings they take on in a year are some of the factors that go into each proposal.

We’ve been diving into larger installations this year, and truly the visual impact of a full arch is unmatched. Add a handful of aisle flowers and it is jaw dropping, *chefs kiss*. Being able to fill in flowers onsite is one of the most peaceful things about set-up. To spend some time designing in the venue- in THE space, on THE wedding day… it brings joy like no other.

If you’ve been following for a little while, you know that I favor these Butterfly Ranunculus like no other. They are perfect to add to a bridal bouquet, centerpieces or bud vases. Each stem often has unopened buds that add that little touch of magic ⁂

Sometimes you gotta just stop and smell the roses, in the most literal sense. Breathe in nature’s scent, and exhale any worry- has been my mantra lately. 2024 has brought so much sweetness into my life, from prepping to design for a 400 person wedding this upcoming November, to checking off some of my favorite venues- it has been the epitome of “dream and do”.

Inspired by Claude Monet’s waterlilies & pond paintings: Lush and a little wild table runner with deeper pinks and purples, overflowing greenery, lots of garden roses, and pops of peonies that remind me of waterlillies when they open up.

Aster & Bee | Behind the name

❋ Aster flowers are some of the most pollinator friendly native wildflowers, and are the perfect pair for bees (in nature and in a brand name)

❋ Bees will forever have my heart. I love pollinators and was in the Bees & Beekeeping club in college, and also took an entire class all about them my junior year (A++ obviously)

❋ The name embodies my love for individuality, intentional design and appreciation of the world around us.

Celebrating each individual bloom in this centerpiece. From the David Austin Garden Rose, to the reflexed Lisianthus, the pink dancing Ranunculus, and the pops of Orlaya towards the top of the centerpiece, each flower has its impactful moment. Even the dark hues of Camilla foliage fit perfectly within the space to accent the venue’s ivy vines.
