Rise and shine boys and girls…TODAY has finally arrived…months of planning, organizing, finalizing for one of Williamson Events Committee biggest events….HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS!!!! We are soooo EXCITED for you to come join US because it’s all been done for each of YOU!!

We are up early, ready for a great day from morning to evening to greet you at 8:00 AM sharp!

Here is your itinerary to plan your day..all in one post so share on your page….get decked out in your Christmas attire..bring your family, friends, neighbors, invite anyone you see and come to town for what we hope feels like a hallmark Christmas.

Pancake Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus beginning at 8 at 3 Guys.. a one mile run at the coal house, small business Saturday, Merry Little Market, Debbie’s Dance Studio performance , Reindeer Run for kiddos, musical performances by Alan Riffle, Kate Boytek, Free Christmas pictures by Peyton Media at our beautifully decorated new town square, our annual Christmas parade with some surprise guests and treats, the lighting reveal of our fabulous PERMANENT TOWN TREE, community caroling and a personal visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus….oh and did I mention you are in store for some surprises too…someone may just give you an unexpected gift…no peeking..just be alert!

Our Williamson Events committee will become Santa’s elves today…all day because his Elves had to stay back at the North Pole to work on your toys. Hey don’t forget to write your letter to Santa and drop it in the mailbox at The Collective Retail & Artisan Shops!

Well my sleigh ride has arrived so I’ll see all of you TODAY as we are getting ready to present all of you with what we hope you will be in awe at our new Hometown Christmas reveal!!

Today The Rectory On Fifth in Williamson is proud to kick off our “Friendsgiving” 2023…..five years ago, we opened our doors for lodging. We received many blessings then and continue to do so today! We thought it was only right to “pay it forward”.

Starting today thru Saturday, November 18, 2023 we will be collecting the following items for our “mixed bag meal”: canned vegetables and fruits, soups, chili, peanut butter, jellies, boxed pastas, potatoes and lentils, cake mixes and frostings, cereals, shelf stable milk, anything that’s not perishable

Items will be evenly distributed with our local church pantries to feed our needy families in our community.

All donations can be dropped off at The Rectory on Fifth, 128 W. Fifth Ave Williamson, WV 25661….

Thanks to everyone over these past five years, who have made our “Friendsgiving” successful and have replenished our local churches food pantries, who in turn serve our families in need all year around.

If you are a rider of Hatfield McCoy Trail System….July 7, 1992 was a game changer for ALL of US!

For years 119 was stopped at the bridge to nowhere as we referred to it…you had to turn down 52 and travel thru West Williamson, Fairview, Goodman, Chattaroy etc…

Then finally it completed and OPENED up what we refer to as the “cut thru”…and it also eventually brought about Trail 10 to HM system

Next time you ride that way just stop and imagine a rock wall just sitting there blocking our travels to many things…31 years doesn’t seem like it’s been that long ago but traveling prior to that was like eternity of doom lol
