Yall!!!! 😍 So many beautiful things have been added to the booth at the Harbor District Market in preparation for Thanksgiving and Christmas! Doors are open today until 5pm and again on Saturday from 9am-5pm. Stop by and grab some beautiful dried flowers to compliment your Thanksgiving decor. Don’t forget to pick up some ornaments for your tree. Hope to see you soon 💐

You do not need fancyrow covers to help your plants make as it through a feeeze. Does it help….yeah. It does make things easier but sheets work too. Especially when you haven’t had time to install your snazzy row covers. I’ll make that a priority this weekend but for now, bedsheets overnight and pulling them off in the morning will have to do.

These are the beds for my personal garden. I do grow flowers in them but also vegetables for the family. I have not planted out in the field yet for the seedlings to overwinter but will do so soon. When the seedlings go into the field, the row covers are installed on the same day.

Flowers friends!!! Every year, once the field is finished and most of the bulbs and seedlings are in the ground to overwinter, I sit down and set goals for the upcoming year. One of my goals is to grow our social media pages and you can help me 😊

FYI…..there is a good chance we will freeze tonight. First priority should be to take care of your pets and outdoor animals.
Cover or bring in all sensitive plants. Disconnect and cover water lines. And ensure your neighbors who may need some additional assistance and the elderly are prepared. Just a friendly reminder! 🥶

These oversized ornaments are filled with an assortment of dried flowers and are absolutely beautiful!!! They will be available at the Harbor District Market around noon on Friday. There are only 3 available at this time.

Sorry for the poor lighting. Rainy days do not make for good photos so we had to resort to the use of the death ray…aka a ridiculously bright flashlight my husband got for me to use in the field.

A day in the life of a flower farmer…planting tulips by flashlight. 🔦 We have a slight chance of rain in the morning so I wanted to get as many of the tulips in the ground tonight as possible so the good Lord could water them 🌧️. I put 1,000 in tonight and have about 250 left to plant but they will have to wait for another day. 🌷

Finished by flashlight 🔦 Approximately 2,250 bulbs are nestled down in this bed for a long winter’s nap. I have more to plant but they’ll have to wait for another day and some sunlight.

If I’m not at work, I am busy making stuff for the market or working in the field. This week has been full of market prep. Don’t forget, I will be at Wynn Farms Produce and Mercantile’s Christmas Market this Saturday, November 16th from 10am-4pm. There will be a lot of local vendors with some wonderful items to kick off your Thanksgiving and Christmas season!!

It took two days but I finally finished our new wildflower magnets made with dried flowers from the field. I adore these and hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
