Forgotten Sunrise highlights the black people who suffered extreme loss from the Tulsa Massacre, whether that loss be in the form of death, injury, poverty or hopes and dreams. Symbolizing the awakening and new beginnings for the people who never got justice, it raises the question of "What if this didn't happen?" or "Why did this happen?"
