✨ 2024, a year full of change! ✨

Those in my inner circle know that it’s very difficult for me to feel proud of myself and feel a sense of accomplishment— but this year, I took a risk in moving Sunburst Florals from Nashville to Wilmington and I am *actually* proud of how much I accomplished in 10 months here.

It was an *intentionally* slower year, but so much growth happened!

✨ 13 stunning weddings in FOUR states, including one of my largest to date! I took on “destination” work and made flower magic in TN, NC, OH and SC

✨ A styled shoot within 1 month of moving to Wilmington, thank you

✨ Designed flowers for elegant intimate beach ceremonies– something I never even dreamed of doing before– let’s do more of these!

✨ Met absolutely wonderful planners and had lovely coffee chats, thanks to for making me feel so welcome here– can’t wait for what we have planned next year!

✨ Worked with new wholesalers, experimenting with freight shipping and doorstep delivery from and local NC blooms from

✨ Amazing new freelancers for Sunburst, shout outs to .a.rhodes and for all your help

✨ Eavesdropped on a meetup and introduced myself when I heard the buzz word and they graciously welcomed me into their group

✨ Handled all the legal and tax stuff that comes with moving an entire business, and let me tell you, the government does not make it straightforward (shocker!)

✨ Tried my hand at new design styles and fell in love with more modern looks

✨ I’ve also been planning my own wedding for April 2025 and have a totally new appreciation for all the decisions my clients have to make!

✨ And the best change– I feel happier and lighter, like the light within me is shining again and I can’t wait to share that with you all in 2025!

“I worked with Sam for my wedding at Wrightsville Manor and I cannot say how THANKFUL I am for this amazing woman and her beautiful work!

I found Sam on Instagram as she was moving from Nashville to Wilmington. She had not done a wedding at Wrightsville Manor yet - but she was one of the few local vendors who I spoke with that was willing to work with my plan of using over 20 of my house plants for my wedding. I loved her aesthetic on her page and she instantly made me feel comfortable and like I was working with a friend as all of our meetings (except one) were on video since I lived in Georgia and moved to Texas as I was planning.

I had a modern theme in mind at first, with mostly white florals, and my pothos plants. When I first met with Sam she made some great suggestions to help make the design more cohesive. I ended up adding more color to my vision as time went on and after meeting with Sam and my fiance at the Manor together we decided we wanted full color flowers instead of neutrals.

As mentioned I was planning a wedding and moving across the country and my brain was just scrambled eggs and I couldn’t make a decision. Sam was super empathetic and supportive and gave me the direction to pick a color pallet, send her flowers we like, and she will make it work and it will be beautiful. Being a hands-on bride has taught me that I need to leave room and trust my vendors because SAM LITERALLY SLAYEDDD MY DAY!!!!!

I seriously couldn’t have been more surprised and in awe of everything. My bouquet was gorgeous, all of the bridesmaids bouquets were perfect, boutonnières were amazing, and we did 4 floral trays that we used for the ceremony and then flipped for inside. We added statement pieces for the bar, a few small bud vases and then Sam styled all of my house plants.

Now if you’re still reading - email Sam now. She is AMAZING. Her eye for design and details is just perfect. I wish my flowers were fake so I could keep them all forever but I am getting my bouquet preserved. We had so many compliments about our flowers and I hope you get to have Sam as part of your special day too!!”

Last weekend we had the absolute pleasure of helping our friends Megan & Morgan get married in Ohio 🤍 Meg wanted to DIY some of the flowers, and I designed her bouquet, flower crowns, Morgan’s pocket square, and a flower arch to wow all our friends.

Megan sourced all the flowers herself, from a local Amish farm, and online wholesalers, with very little guidance from me. She pulled the vision together, and I came in at the end to bring it to life. This is an unconventional approach for most floral designers, but it was so special to help our friends on their big day!

Meg & Morg, thank you for letting me be a small part of your special day, I’ll remember it forever 🫶🏼
