MUSIC FOR HARP ... WITH A SWEDISH ACCENT!

The sweet strains of the harp will fill our beautiful and historic Old Swedes Church on Sunday, Sept. 14. Old Swedes Historic Site will present harpist Anne Sullivan in concert at 2 pm on the 14th. We hope you will join us!

Recitalist, chamber musician and symphonic soloist, Sullivan is also a preeminent teacher of the harp and music theory.
As well as the classics, the program will feature “Theme and Variations on a Swedish Folk Tune,” by Swedish harpist and composer Anton Edvard Pratté (1796-1875), described by contemporaries as "the Harp King of the North.”

Tickets are $10 ($8 for students) and are available at the door or online at https://oldswedes.org/events/

TRINITY HANDBELLS return in SEPTEMBER! Come Ring With Us!

The Trinity Ringers will start ringing again as part of our Sunday morning worship services on Sunday, September 28. We would love to have you join us! We will rehearse on Sundays September 14 and 21, at 11:15 am, in the downstairs dining room. If you are interested in ringing with us, please email our Director of Music, David Simmons, at [email protected], so that he can have the right arrangement of bells scores ready for rehearsal. We would love to have more members, friends or guests of Trinity join us for this fun endeavor. No prior experience playing bells is needed! RING ON!!!

TRINITY CHOIR Rehearsals Begin Sept. 4! COME JOIN US!

The Trinity Choir returns to rehearsals for a new choir season on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7:00 pm and to singing for Sunday morning worship services on Sunday, September 7th. We would love to have you join us! We welcome both experienced singers as well as people who have never sung in a choir. EVERYBODY is welcome and encouraged to become a part of the musical life of our congregation through participation in this wonderful vocal ensemble. Trinity’s Choir has lots of fun making music together and we are always looking for new voices to join our ranks. Starting this coming Sunday, August 3!

The 8:00 am and 10:00 am Services at Trinity have been combined into one 9:30 am Service and moved to our historic Old Swedes location for all five Sundays in the month of August. Old Swedes is located at 606 North Church Street in Wilmington. Come join us for beautiful music and meaningful worship with a welcoming community in the stunning acoustics of Old Swedes. POSITION OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT

SECOND TENOR/BARITONE STAFF SINGER POSITION

Historic Trinity Episcopal Parish in Wilmington, DE announces the opening of a search to fill a SECOND TENOR/BARITONE staff singer position, beginning in September of 2025.

Trinity is easily accessible from I-95, located at the top of the ramp of Exit 7. Compensation is $176 per week, plus additional compensation for special rehearsals, services, weddings and funerals. Trinity’s six paid singers are supplemented each Sunday by a highly skilled and dedicated corps of another 10 to 12 volunteer singers for a versatile ensemble of 16 to 18 singers. The 2025/2026 season runs from Thursday, September 4 to Sunday, May 31.

Thursday evening rehearsals are at 7:00 pm and Sunday morning call is at 9:00 am for one Sunday worship service. Applicants MUST be available to sing all Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday services to apply.

Singers, who serve as both soloists and section leaders, must be excellent sight-readers and adept and comfortable singing in a wide variety of musical genres and styles in a fast-paced environment. Singers must also be punctual, reliable and willing to work in and foster a spirit of collegiality and collaboration. Our choir is extremely hard-working, dedicated and focused, but also loves to create great music while having lots of fun and enjoying our time together.

Trinity’s choir and congregation are a diverse, welcoming, inclusive, loving and compassionate group of individuals. Trinity Parish, which was founded in 1698, has a long history of musical excellence and two beautiful and historic sanctuaries that are home to two Austin pipe organs (a three-manual and a two-manual), five pianos (including a nine-foot Steinway "D"in the main sanctuary), as well a large set of handbells and tower bells.
