THIS SUNDAY! Grammy nominated artist performs at Trinity!
Grammy nominated Saxophonist, bandleader, and Managing and Co-Artistic Director of Jazz Lives Philadelphia, Joshua Lee is fully dedicated to the advancement of the Philadelphia jazz community. Joshua graduated from Temple University in 2016 and 2019 with both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Jazz Performance. He has had the fortune of mentorship from musicians like Dick Oatts,
Terell Stafford, Tim Warfield, Barry Harris, Jason Marshall and Gary Smulyan on both the Philadelphia and New York scenes.
As a result, Joshua joined the Legendary Count Basie Orchestra in June of 2018 and performs with them around the world while also serving as a regular substitute with groups like the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, the Sun Ra Arkestra, the Mingus Big Band, Delfeayo Marsalis’ Uptown Jazz Orchestra, and Terell Stafford’s Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia. He is also a member of Abdullah Ibrahim and Ekaya, Eyal Vilner Jazz Orchestra and the cast of Sw!ng Out, Chelsea Reed and the Fairweather Nine, and Danny Jonokuchi and the Revisionists.Joshua joined the Jazz Faculty at Temple University in the fall of 2019, was awarded as one of Temple University’s 30 Under 30 in 2020. He leads his own bands, including The Extended Family, that is dedicated to performing the swing era music
of Count Basie, Jimmie Lunceford, Fletcher Henderson and more. Joshua is a P. Mauriat artist and plays on the 302UL Baritone Saxophone.

Josh Lee and the Extended Family, a 15-piece Philadelphia-based ensemble that authentically celebrates the music and dance of the swing era, will open The Arts At Trinity's 2025-2026 Concert Season with a FREE performance entitled “Swing Sounds, Swing Moves” at 4:00 pm on Sunday, Nov. 2 in Trinity Episcopal Church, 1108 N. Adams St., at Delaware Avenue, in Wilmington. NO advance tickets required!
Featuring a jazz vocalist and two swing dancers, the performance will be preceded by FREE Swing Dance Lessons at 3:15 pm. with two professional swing dancers.
A selection of seasonal treats and hot/cold drinks will be served before and after the concert.
Trinity Church is wheelchair accessible, with designated parking spaces, access ramps on either side of the church complex, and an outdoor elevator. Free parking is available adjacent to the church on N. Adams Street and in the church parking lot on W. 11th Street.
