Did you know our 1858 original curtain depicts an ancient temple scene of warriors consulting the oracle just before the Olympic Games? 💫

“The scene…is designed to represent the voyage of chief persons of the ancient Grecian cities to an island in the Aegean Sea, upon which stands one of the many celebrated temples dedicated to Apollo, for the purpose of sacrificing and consulting the oracle previous to opening the Olympic Games,…” - October 13, 1858 in the Wilmington Daily Journal

With heavy hearts we remember Randolph Del Lago, an actor, director and contributor to Thalian Hall’s theatrical history. Del Lago, an NC native, performed and directed at Thalian beginning as a student of then Wilmington College and until 1982 when he moved to South Florida. Del Lago then went on to become the Director of Delray Beach Playhouse for 40 years, continuing its legacy as the longest running playhouse in South Florida.

Randy is remembered by many in this community for this contributions to our theatrical history.
