Again, one of the biggest perks of my job is the people I’m fortunate to meet. I am very grateful to at Croda, Inc for reaching out to me to shoot this very emotional talk at Sean’s House in Newark to to raise mental health awareness and support SL24 UnLocke the Light. After only a couple hours I felt we went from strangers to bonded by being a part of their personal stories they bravely shared. First time I got teared up on a shoot.

So I tried a different lighting setup after doing some research. Apurture 1200 at 40% into unbleached muslin for my key. The position of the light source and muslin allows for the light to wrap the subjects face with a nice roll off into the shadows. Normally I use my Arri 1K for key but it makes for a better kicker on the dark side of the subject. Not an ideal space to shoot but we made it work! Not a perfect setup but it’s a big step in the right direction for me!

Last week I pulled out the to capture shots of being catapulted to test its durability. The catapult was supplied and operated by the bad-ass woman who co-founded with her husband. It was a long day but getting to work with this group of people made it so much fun. Oh yeah, we also threw the luggage out of a helicopter for safe measure.
