As advocates of proper usage of child car seats we encourage anyone who is unsure of any style car seat’s installation to go check out the cities FREE check. They have all kinds of tricks and tips for any style of seat.

Did you know that nearly half of all child car seats are not used correctly? That's why the Wilmington, NC Fire Department is holding free car seat checking events where safety technicians will make sure your child's car seat is properly installed.

Changes are happening at the ferry.

In a continuing effort to provide a better experience for all ferry passengers, Bald Head Island Transportation, Inc. is excited to announce a transition to electronic ticketing and online ferry and tram reservations for designated ticket classes.

Online ticketing and ferry reservations will provide more convenient ticket purchase options for customers and help even out passenger flows, especially during peak season.

Ferry reservations and ticket purchases can be made on the Bald Head Island Ferry app, which can be downloaded for iPhone or Android phones, as well as on the BaldHeadIslandFerry.com website. Final testing of the new system will occur the week of June 5, 2023. If testing is successful, the mobile app and website may “go live” as early as Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

We encourage you to view an overview of the new system in more detail as well as a Frequently Asked Questions page on the BaldHeadIslandFerry.com website. BHI Transportation, Inc. appreciates your patience during the transition to a more streamlined and modern ticketing system.

With the baseball team's dramatic CAA championship late Sunday, the Seahawks have won five conference titles in 2022-23 - the most by any league member this season and the most in UNCW history. What a year!
