The Sequel..
Tyesha and Kevin love surprising each other.Every year, Tyesha knows Kevin will have a surprise for her birthday and every year, she tries to figure it out with no success. This year, Kevin decided to up the anticipation by asking Tyesha to wear specific colors for what they were doing and telling her it might be the best birthday yet. In her sarcastic fashion, Tyesha told him he was hyping it up and they were probably just going to McDonald’s or somewhere similar. Kevin decided to have the celebration the day before (on July 29, 2023) Tyesha’s birthday since her birthday was on a Sunday. The day finally arrived and Kevin asked Tyesha if she would ride blindfolded for the surprise (remember the 18th birthday surprise story she told him?). She didn’t want to ruin her makeup, so she tried to do an eye mask instead but that also didn’t work. She decided to close her eyes the entire ride. She would later find out Kevin intentionally took multiple detours to confuse her even more! When they finally arrived, Tyesha was confused but eventually realized they were at Cheesecake Factory in Short Pump. As she was looking at the dessert menu, Kevin said to let him take care of ordering her dessert. Very confused again, she asked him how he would do that when she didn’t even know what she wanted. Little did she knew, he knew exactly what she wanted! Kevin excused himself from the table and was gone for what felt like hours to Tyesha. When he finally came back, he was carrying a slice of cheesecake with a candle, got on one knee and proposed! Of course, Tyesha said yes!

I can't convince Tyesha to be a planner yet but she really rocked this planning, every last detail!

While many people were excited for the world to slowly reopen after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the world as we all knew it, Tyesha and Kevin had a different reason to be excited — their first date!

That finally happened on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Sedona Taphouse in Charlottesville. Their first date went so well, they went out for a second date to Mona Lounge in Short Pump that Friday and a third date that Saturday (to Stone Mountain Vineyards). This would be the first of many dates and they bonded very quickly. In fact, if you ask them when their anniversary is, they will tell you that it is the day of their first date.

In their first three years, they collectively lived in three states (NY, NJ & SC) at five different addresses. Now five years later, their mutual support hasn’t wavered. Daria quizzed Eddie through his schooling. Eddie coached Daria through several powerlifting competitions, and they eventually adopted a second dog together (hi, Pretzel.) They’ve traveled all over the U.S. from New Hampshire to California, with many adventures to come, including a honeymoon TBD.
