And Nick even composed a song to surprise her with as they walked down the "aisle". With all of their friends and family each contributing to make their day even more special.

For those of us who have been dreaming of what our wedding day may look like since you were younger, we imagine where it would be, and dream about the person we will marry. But then there's our parents, silblings, and close friends we always had just expected would be there to walk you down the aisle or stand there by your side.

And then this messy thing called life happens. Things like illness, accidents, su***de, and overdose can steal these precious people from our lives. Loss is always an inevitable part of loving someone.

But as you marry this person who is beyond anything you had ever even dreamed of, just remember that you can still bring a part of those you lost with you on your wedding day. From jewelry, patches, stand-in flowers, and even share there ashes back to the places they loved most. They will always be standing there in spirit, prouder than even.

Adirondack Mountain Elopement Rita + Jacob

I'll admit it. I often get more emotionally attached to my couples than they may realize. Not only do I get to spend the most time with you on the most special day of your life, but at the end of the day, the other vendors pack up and head home. But I get to spend the next few weeks to a few months seeing your faces on a daily basis! It is a rather intimate and special thing spending that much time with someone, even digitally. And I often get really emotional while editing these films. This was one of those cases. When you see a couple that in love... it sets an example of the good in the world and shows us the possibilities in life. To a lifetime of happiness and love... Congratulations ❤❤❤

As we transition into the new season, I get super excited about all the upcoming adventures that are planned and especially those that aren't planned! But I find it's good to reflect on all the cool things I've got to do and explore over the past several months.

Getting to do an Adventure Engagement Session with my friends Mariel and Nick was definitely one of those fun times. We had such a good time and they were even game for climbing a mountain, on snowshoes, for the first time, knowing we were going to need headlamps to hike out, but they killed it and had smiles on the whole time! :)

When we do these sessions, it's more than me just pointing a camera at you and expect you to know what to do. My goal is to be there as a guide on the most fun, memorable day ever in the coolest locations. I set you up with everything you need to be comfortable and just enjoy your time with each other. And I focus on keeping things light, and casual. You can just relax, be who you are and enjoy these beautiful, intimate experiences together...It's like a mini vacation/date day
I offer these sessions within my wedding film collections, or just as it's own thing. And you don't have to be engaged. Whether you're a just a couple, friends, married, single....whatever! It doesn't matter.

There are so many different ways to express how much you mean to each other. And during the ceremony some couple may choose the, "repeat after me" method (and nothing wrong with that). But I've always been a firm believer in writing out your vows and reading them to each other. You can read them in private, or during the ceremony. And if you want to really make the tears flow, try exchanging vows and recite them to each other 😢 It can make your day so much more personable and memorable. These are the words you're going to want to look back on years from now. You will want them on paper and you want to hear them being said.
And that's one of the things that makes wedding films so powerful! Being able to secure those words from that day is HUGE! So when Sadie mentioned that Hunter had lost his vows... I had them covered. 🙌

The Catskill Mountains are loaded with so many great places to get married! From luxurious barns and estates to adventurous forest elopements, there are just so many options available for you here.
And did you know you can can married at a ski resort!?
Just in this area alone... there are 4 main ski resorts all within about 40mins or less from each other.




This is an amazing option even if you don't ski or snowboard, and even if your not planning a winter wedding. Keep in mind these are RESORTS and most are designed to accommodate weddings and events no matter the time of year.
This is just one of the many options available. Be sure to reach out to each venues event coordinator and they can walk you through all the available options.
And please don't forget about all the other amazing wedding venues and vendors we have available here throughout the Catskills and Hudson Valley area. There are many out there run by incredible people and they can provide you an experience like no other! So make sure you do your homework and no matter what, go with the vendors you good about working with. Don't ever feel like you have to settle or like there's nothing out there because trust me, there is a perfect wedding vendor out there just waiting to make your dreams come true :)

I went to meet with Sadie and Hunter at their home this past fall. It's located on the most beautiful, scenic horse farm that borders the Catskill Mountains. So naturally, that's where they chose to be married. They instantly invited me in on their family dinner time and everyone made me feel so welcomed! It means so much to be able to connect with such kind and caring people.
After nearly two years of planning, and then replanning... and having to reduce the guests list due to Covid, they are finally married. It turned out to be an absolutely perfect autumn day and was truly unforgettable. Congrats!!!

Whether you're going to elope in the mountains or planning a more traditional wedding, make sure you set aside time to just stop and enjoy time with each other.
So many couples are rushed through their day, from one event to the next and never get to truly soak it all in. This is YOUR day! And it goes so fast. You are going to want to look back and remember these special, intimate moments. This be accomplished by just adding a little more time to a portrait session, or your own time completely alone. Be sure to work with your planner and/or photographer to make sure you get this time. You will be so thankful you did!

When it starts to flurry outside, I get a little giddy inside. I just love this time of year!

This morning's flurries made me think of this awesome winter wedding in Colorado. In true CO fashion, the skys opened up and dumped a nice layer of snow on us, only making this day even more magical. Everything is more romantic in the snow! ❤❄👰
