One of the most commonly asked questions we get from our couples is about WHEN they should be booking their wedding florist. Here are three key pointers from our experienced team:
1 - Make sure your wedding DATE is officially confirmed. It may sound obvious, but this is crucial. Having your date confirmed helps our team ensure our availability. Ideally, you would also have your venue confirmed at the same time as well. This helps our team understand the opportunities for floral decor at your venue, including seasonal flowers, colors, styles, and custom installations like floral chandeliers, archways, chuppahs, staircases, and other beautiful accents.
2 - Book your florist at least 9-10 months out from your wedding date. It may sound surprising, but many couples will spend about a year planning their wedding day. If you have a distinct vision for your wedding flowers, it is wise to book your florist about 9-10 months out from your wedding date. This is especially true if you’re getting married during the peak of the wedding season (summer and early fall). You may be risking compromising on your vision and budget if you wait until 6 months before your wedding date. This is also true for other vendors, including your photographer and videographer, wedding coordinator, and DJ or band. Spare yourself the heartache and stress and plan to book 9-10 months in advance.
3 - Find out if they offer additional decor services beyond flowers. Many florists offer additional decor assistance beyond florals. The experienced team at Janet’s is proud to be one of those florists, offering comprehensive wedding decorator services that can include custom draping, lighting, and rental items like welcome signs, wreaths, archways, custom seating charts, champagne walls, and other fun additions that can be present at both your ceremony and reception sites. Our team can build you a custom floral and decor strategy that captures your vision, maximizes the beauty of your chosen venue, and helps you to streamline your decor planning process.
