Schedule a paint party today in our safe, socially distant indoor or outdoor space. Irene helps children thrive by offering private classes, especially for Pre-K to 2nd Grade! Growing up in New York City, she spent much time noticing the array of colors, patterns, and textures of the world around her. The streets were alive with music and art. Growing up in the 60's was an exciting time. She felt
the excitement and energy of the city and would visit Inwood Park, the Cloisters, museums, and Greenwich Village. It wasn't until years later that she discovered the artist within her. Her art work expresses a connection with primal elements: darkness, light, shadow, anger, fear, war, peace, intimacy, distance. She uses watercolor, watercolor ink, acrylic, pastels, collage. She paints for the joy she feels when creating art and and for its transformational capabilities. Irene was born in Manhattan on November 27, 1949. She holds a Masters of Education degree from the University of Hartford, is an Early Childhood Specialist, and taught pre-K through first grade for thirty years in N.Y.C. Mostly a self-taught artist for ten years, she has studied watercolor, collage, acrylics, and pastels with various artists. Now retired from teaching, she enjoys creating artwork in her studio in Windsor. As a member of the Women's Artist Collective, Windsor Palette and Brush and the To***co Valley Artist Association, her work has won several awards in local shows.
