Today we are thankful for the successes we have had on The Bowery Stage in 2024.

Bowery Stage Music
Hosted 13 concerts featuring a wide variety of music genres

Bowery Stage Theater
First collaboration with other regional theaters
Producing the first Musical performed on The Bowery Stage
Welcomed 17 new actors to The Bowery Stage

Open Mic Night
Celebrated the 3rd Anniversary of Open Mic Night in September
Average 18 performers and audiences greater than 50 people each month
Hosted our first Open Mic Night - Story-telling and Spoken Word in Oct with 9 performers and 30 plus in the audience

Counting our blessings!

It's that time of the year when we stop and reflect on the many blessings and accomplishments we have experienced in the past year. Winnsboro Center for the Arts is no exception. And boy, do we have lots to be thankful for. Over the next two weeks we will share some of the many blessings and accomplishments we have experienced.

Art Exhibits
Offered 8 interesting exhibits including one juried
Expanded our gallery to include an additional 380 square feet of exhibit space
Gave almost 200 local artists an opportunity to show their work publicly.
Sold 257 pieces of art generating $22K in sales

Festivals and other events
Hosted three festivals throughout the year bringing more than 5000 people to our downtown retail area
Expanded Cowboy Music and Poetry Gathering to a 2-day event with 8 concerts and free family events all day Saturday
Enjoyed the Total Eclipse with many community friends on the Bowery
Hosted our first book signing with Dawn Tripp for her new book "Jackie"

Nancy, who currently lives in Winnsboro, graduated from Principia College with a degree in Fine Arts, Studio, and Art History. She also participated in an Art Abroad course in Europe. Pastels are her medium of choice in landscapes, still life, and animal portraits. She teaches workshops and weekly classes in pastels and is a regular instructor at the Winnsboro Center for the Arts. Nancy has been blessed with numerous awards in art competitions.

Description:
Come and learn about the technique of Gelli Plate printing! Ed will have a great presentation and practice time for deco art, cards, book covers, and more! A relatively new form of mono printing that uses flexible printing plates to create textures and layers of color. Using a brayer roller coat the Gelli plate with a very fine layer of water-based ink or paint. Using stencils and natural elements such as leaves, you can create textures and patterns. This form of printing does not require a press, you simply place a piece of paper over the prepared Gelli plate and using your hands smooth it over the back of the paper. All non-toxic materials.

Our Story

Embracing the Sprit of Creativity

Winnsboro Center for the Arts is a multi-disciplinary art center serving Northeast Texas with a diverse array of activities including educational programming, cultural opportunities and entertainment.

Our revenue is derived primarily from large events such as concerts, theatre and festivals. With the arrival of COVID-19, we have had to close our doors and cancel all events. To effectively serve the community during this time, we are transitioning to virtual activities such as art exhibit tours, classes and workshops and summer camps. Our vision is to integrate the arts into community life, and we continue to seek innovative means of accomplishing that.

Winnsboro Center for the Arts (WCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located at 200 Market Street in Winnsboro.
