We’re proof that your wedding day can go the absolute opposite of what you’ve planned (insert Hurricane Ian weather map), and it still be the best day ever.

As a florist though, I have some really funny/sweet memories that I can’t wait to tell my clients for years to come.

I forgot my bouquet at my wedding. Yep, the florist (me) left her own bouquet sitting on her parents kitchen island when leaving for the venue. I didn’t realize it until about 2 minutes before walking down the aisle. It was a laughing moment for sure, and I ended up being really grateful to hold my dads arm instead of a bouquet. (I promise I will never forget your bouquet! Thankfully and comically that will only ever happen to me 😅)

I had big floral plans for the arbor my dad had built for our ceremony. When it came time to design florals on the arbor, I let my dad do it all! That will always be so special to me, and the simplicity is all I really wanted after all.

I didn’t order my florals beforehand! Really, everything I did for my own wedding, I do the opposite for my booked weddings, ha! I walked into my wholesaler’s cooler days before and just picked what I wanted! I was pulling the go-with-the-flow card and part of me loves I did this, the other part realizes the importance of hiring a flrorist 😉

Regardless of a hurricane, changing plans, or forgetting your own bouquet, the day is about marrying your person and that joy outweighs everything else, and that joy is the best!
