The award-winning UNCSA Jazz Ensemble continues the season with a concert highlighting a contemporary ensemble of six horns, two double basses, two drum sets, guitar, vibes and electric keyboard, featuring contemporary bassoonist Paul Hanson and Jazz and Contemporary Department Chair Steven Alford.

TONIGHT!

Join us for one of the most anticipated concerts of the season as last year’s Concerto Competition winner, bassoonist Baron Thor Young, brings Weber’s Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra to life!

Led by Music Director Robert Franz, the program also features Beethoven’s thrilling Seventh Symphony - a work full of rhythm, energy, and what one musicologist called a “divine intoxication of the spirit.” Plus, the orchestra will present Chokfi, a unique piece by Native American composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate that captures the lively and mischievous spirit of the rabbit trickster.
