I have had multiple brides who think having their iPhone plugged into a speaker is the perfect way to save roughly $1,500 on DJ services–many brides don’t realize the added impact of nixing a DJ from your reception,” says Katie Kernozek of Ocean Blue Catering. “Guests don’t make their way to the dance floor, there are no formal introductions of the wedding party and there is no emcee to help move the reception from one phase to the next. Guests sense this disorganization and it really does cheapen the event.” My tip would be to consult a Quality DJ and have him run and coordinate your event and then cut your budget somewhere else.

The following post may fly in the face of the way other vendors do business, but this is something I feel needs to be said. Keep in mind this is only my view of the way I do business, and does not reflect the views of any other vendor.

I am one of the most established wedding DJ’s in Winston Salem. I have been producing weddings since 1995. i’ve learned a thing or two about the way to conduct business over the years .

My business model has never been about making money. it always has been, and always will be, about creating harmonious, working relationships with couples and their families.

That requires an immense amount of honest and open communication between all parties, when it comes to the planning process.

The most frustrating obstacle I have run into over the last 10 years of doing business, is the lack of communication. When couples are not forthcoming with simple details about their event, it makes it extremely difficult to produce the final product that they are paying for.

I am passionate about the ex*****on of excellence and perfection when it comes to producing weddings.

I am very old-school when it comes to customer service.

This is an important message for all couples concerning your wedding day music.

If you create your playlists in Spotify, please remember that Spotify DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO DOWNLOAD THAT MUSIC TO AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.

So when you hire a DJ, where is your music played from? An external hard drive.

Keep in mind that the most professional DJ’s pay monthly or annual fees to subscribe to several different services to obtain their music. Those services give DJ’s many different options for music downloading and some services specialize in wedding music.

Work closely with your DJ and give them the creative freedom to be more than a human jukebox.

I am super stoked about all of the new equipment purchases that I’ve made for my business. Granted, I should’ve done this a long time ago, but better late than never.
I’ve been wanting to clean up my presentation for a long time and honestly did not want to get rid of my older analog equipment because it’s in perfect working condition. I’ve purchased a brand new rack unit to house all of the amplifiers and processing equipment and mixer and lighting board. it’s on heavy duty wheels that have locking mechanisms for stability. It also has a breakout table top, but can be attached to the rack unit. not only is this going to clean up my presentation, but it will also aid in the set up and teardown times.

Effective 8/24/2023, there are 314 rustic barn wedding and event venues in the greater Piedmont Triad area alone. More are opening every week. At some point, one would have to ask - how many is too many? I am simply posting this as food for thought.

**Winston Salem Wedding DJ is committed to working hand in hand with all couples that have contracted with us, to help them secure a new date for their weddding should they be impacted by the COVID-19 issue. We sympathize with each and every family that is being affected by this unimaginable event and believe in compassion and understanding. As of 3-24-2020, we have helped all couples under contract select a new date and time for their wedding. If you are in the process of searching for vendors and have not hired a DJ/coordination service for your ceremony and reception, please allow us to share information about what we do and how we work hand in hand with all couples to help them realize their dream wedding. As of 5-2-2020, we have almost all weekends in June, all weekends in July and August, the weekends of September 11th/12th, 18th/19th and 25th/26th available, all weekends in October EXCEPT the 10th, all weekends in November except the 21st and all weekends in December 2020 available.
