Acerca de éste sonido:
" El Zaghareet, pronunciado como 'sagarit' en árabe, es un sonido largo, agudo que se asemeja a un aullido inconfundible. Es una ululación, un alarido único, especial, que se hace modulando el sonido con la lengua, con movimientos repetitivos y muy rápidos. Originariamente, era considerado un grito de guerra que proviene desde tiempos de los faraones en Egipto, donde las mujeres recibían o despedían así a los hombres que partían a la batalla.
Actualmente, el Zaghareet se trasmite como una emoción de alegría (también de pena), sonido de celebración y de fiesta, muy popular en los encuentros familiares y en los bailes comunitarios. Sirve, también, para desear suerte, éxito y ánimo, también para felicitar y, algunas veces, para despedir. En algunas guerras de liberación anticolonial (por ejemplo, en Argelia) fue también sonido de resistencia, de orgullo y de liberación.
