The following post may fly in the face of the way other vendors do business, but this is something I feel needs to be said. Keep in mind this is only my view of the way I do business, and does not reflect the views of any other vendor. 

I am one of the most established wedding DJ’s in Winston Salem.  I have been producing weddings since 1995.  i’ve learned a thing or two about the way to conduct business over the years .

My business model has never been about making money.  it always has been, and always will be, about creating harmonious, working relationships with couples and their families. 

That requires an immense amount of honest and open communication between all parties, when it comes to the planning process. 

The most frustrating obstacle I have run into over the last 10 years of doing business, is the lack of communication.  When couples are not forthcoming with simple details about their event, it makes it extremely difficult to produce the final product that they are paying for. 

I am passionate about the ex*****on of excellence and perfection when it comes to producing weddings. 

I am very old-school when it comes to customer service.

This is an important message for all couples concerning your wedding day music.

If you create your playlists in Spotify, please remember that Spotify DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO DOWNLOAD THAT MUSIC TO AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.

So when you hire a DJ, where is your music played from? An external hard drive.

Keep in mind that the most professional DJ’s pay monthly or annual fees to subscribe to several different services to obtain their music. Those services give DJ’s many different options for music downloading and some services specialize in wedding music.

Work closely with your DJ and give them the creative freedom to be more than a human jukebox.

Many of us are passionate about creating absolute perfection in every aspect of your wedding day and our job is to support the couple with the right music background for each part of their wedding celebration.

I am super stoked about all of the new equipment purchases that I’ve made for my business. Granted, I should’ve done this a long time ago, but better late than never. 
I’ve been wanting to clean up my presentation for a long time and honestly did not want to get rid of my older analog equipment because it’s in perfect working condition. I’ve purchased a brand new rack unit to house all of the amplifiers and processing equipment and mixer and lighting board.  it’s on heavy duty wheels that have locking mechanisms for stability. It also has a breakout table top, but can be attached to the rack unit.  not only is this going to clean up my presentation, but it will also aid in the set up and teardown times.

A thing of old school beauty.
Been working on refurbishing and recycling older analog front of house equipment that’s been sitting unused for too long.
This is Winston Salem Wedding DJ’s updated control console. The idea is to make my setup and tear down time shorter. The console shelf unit has five wheels on the underside of the base for portability and a three foot long power strip on the middle shelf behind the effects rack. The effects rack and amp rack are secured with zip ties. From this point forward, it will reduce my setup time by at least 20 minutes or more. Roll in, hook up, plug and play. The amp and effects SKB racks are used and the mixer case is new. The heavy plastic shelf unit is from Lowe’s which has been covered with a flat black twin bed sheet and secured with staples. Less than $500 invested to bring the best equipment back to life.

Wedding Business 101 - The Winston Salem Wedding DJ way:
Shopping for any vendor is a lengthy process and you should always take your time and ask as many questions as possible.
Your goal should be to hire that "just right vendor" that is going to invest themselves fully in the production of your event, regardless of the services they are offering. It is also very important, that you choose that vendor that meshes with your personalities, because over the course of many months, you will want to create a personalized working relationship with that vendor that has your best interests at heart.
At Winston Salem Wedding DJ, I don't just show up the day of and play music.
I create a harmonious working relationship with you and your fiance' and your families, to ensure a flawless event. And that should be the key to any vendor you hire - to create that relationship to ensure that your vision is brought to life. When hired, we all work together over a course of months or even a full year prior to the wedding, to create that relationship so that on your wedding day, everything is perfect and just the way you want it.
We always tell our brides and grooms, that you only get one shot at perfection, that there are no do-overs. This is why we work so closely with them, through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, emails, texts, etc., and bend over backward to ensure a successful event. Any vendor that you hire, should be willing and able to work behind the scenes to take care of any snafus that come up so that the event itself is not impacted.
Here is what I offer each couple -
Ceremony Production (that includes light DJ direction & coordination if needed) includes:
All rehearsal time the night before, all microphones necessary during the ceremony to include a wireless lapel mic for the officiant/minister, a wireless lapel mic for the groom and/or bride so their vows can be heard, all microphones needed for live musicians, readings or solos, all music production as needed, a sound system specifically designed for ceremonies (separate from the reception sound system), all production duties for the day, all face to face, phone and video consultations to establish the flow of the day, and a personally crafted timeline outlining all details and timing for the entire event.
*For outdoor ceremonies, I also provide my own 10' by 10' foot canopy to cover my equipment.
**For all other outdoor events held in a remote location where electricity isn't available, I offer generator services for rent.

Cocktail Hour and Reception
Includes:
All in person meetings, consultations, emails and phone calls to understand the music and lighting needs for the event, a personalized planning website designed just for the couple that includes all necessary worksheets and access to the largest music database available, all music production and emcee work, a third sound system for the cocktail hour if held in a different location than the reception, a full professional sound system for the reception designed specifically to work with the venue's acoustics, as well as a designed lighting package to enhance the dance and reception spaces. The package also includes all face to face, phone and video consultations to establish the flow of the day, a personally crafted timeline outlining all details and timing for the cocktail hour and reception.

I also offer a new lighting product called Heavenly Ceilings that will transform any plain and drab venue ceiling into a night sky filled with twinkling stars. It's free, just ask for it if you think it will enhance your evening.
I also send each couple a FREE 32 page bridal planning booklet in the mail.
There is no obligation to hire me after receiving it, it is merely my free gift to all couples to help jump start the creative juices flowing, and to get them thinking about the questions they should ask any DJ or entertainer when shopping around.
Again, there is absolutely no obligation on the couples' part to hire me after receiving it.
