First and foremost, if you are planning on proposing - congratulations! This is such an exciting time and we hope your proposal is everything you dream it to be. Whether you are helping out a friend or the one actually doing the proposing - we have some tips to share with you for a seamless and memorable engagement!

1. Temporarily share your location with your photographer! This helps us out A LOT. We can make sure we are in position and ready to go before you even get there!

2. Recruit trusted friends to help. You don't have to do it all yourself! If you have a close group of friends, see if they can help you set up.

3. If you think a text message might give up the surprise, mute your notifications!

4. Practice proposing. Before the big day try proposing with the box, without the box, left knee, or right knee. See what feels right so you don't have to guess in the moment!

5. This one is for the helpers out there - if the person proposing does not share with someone about his plans, then don't be the one to share without permission! Even if they don't know the couple, it is best practice to just not share that information until everything happens.

Our last tip: have fun! You are going to be sharing this story with people for the rest of your lives. Take a second to soak it all in and savor the moment!

New wedding venue highlight: Lavender on the Lake

This venue has been on our list for a while and last month we had the honor of visiting and taking pictures during a styled shoot (and it did NOT disappoint). And this is not your average wedding venue - it is also a farm filled with 10 acres of fresh flowers. Talk about a dream! Plus you have plenty of room to roam and dance in the 10,000 sq ft barn. And being surrounded by glass windows and doors will ensure you won't miss the sun setting over Lake Tohopekaliga.

Getting on your initial phone calls with vendors can be intimidating like a first date. Except, you don't have to go into it completely blind. Here is a heads up about some of the items that might be up for discussion:

Your love story! We want to hear all about what made you pick each other! We want to celebrate your love story on your wedding day so we obviously want to hear all about it.

How do we fit? Your photographer and videographer are the two people (next to your spouse) that you will spend the majority of your time with on your wedding day. We want to make sure we are a good fit so you have the best experience possible!

What style of photos are you drawn to? What is your vision? This is VERY important. If you are wanting a specific style of photography that we do not do, that information is CRITICAL for the both of us.

Go over these topics prior to the call with your partner! Making sure you are both on the same page will help everyone out in the long run! What are some things you hope to learn about your photographer on your initial call?

We have been wanting to share our experience at the The Golden Bear Club at Keene's Pointe for quite some time!

Katherine + Justin got married here at the Golden Bear Club and I remember being completely blown away. The gazebo was beautifully maintained and perfect for the ceremony and the ballroom was so spacious! It can actually accommodate up to 120 guests!

A bonus: the lake on the property makes for the most amazing location for golden hour photos. We were stunned!

Vicky + Robert

For their 50th wedding anniversary (AMAZING!) Vicky + Robert decided they wanted to celebrate with their closest friends and family in the form of a vow renewal and we are so glad they did! The way their celebration was brought to life by their love for each other and the love their family and friends have for them was nothing short of inspiring. On the day of the vow renewal - despite the crazy storm shortly before the festivities, friends and family traveled in, helped set up, and brought their vision to life. Everyone was so quick to pitch in that you just know Vicky and Robert are such a special couple.
