Worried about rain on your wedding day in Maine? ☔️
July and August are your best bets for sunshine. Over the last 3 years, Saturday averages have looked like this:
🌡 Temps: Around 78°F days / 58°F nights
💧 Humidity: ~70–75% (warm, but breezy)
🌅 Sunset: 8:15 pm in July | 8:00 pm in August — plenty of golden hour light
🌦 Rain chances: Only about 1 in 4 days sees any precipitation, and it’s usually quick to pass.
You know what they say here in Maine… if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes.
So go ahead - plan that outdoor ceremony, gather around the firepit, and enjoy every second of those golden summer nights.

Winter bunny routine: We fenced off our herb garden and made it their cold-weather run, with a little culvert that leads to their hutch by the front door. 🐇
Even though they do have a heated hutch, ours love to dig and make underground dens when it gets cold… so we’ll see where she chooses her home this year. We put a camera in to inspect her home last year, they had excavated over 8’ deep!!

I asked ChatGPT to decorate our event restrooms so I could get some inspo. Everything it did was highly impractical, particularly the suggestion of adding a “Get Naked” sign for some “cheeky humor”. Guests…. Please do not get naked at an event. No cheeks allowed. 0/10 stars for ChatGPT today. I’m looking for help with decor/design/layout for interior and exterior spaces so if anyone is experienced in hospitality spaces and could be interested in a trade, let’s connect 😊

New brides! Past brides! Or grooms 🙃 We need your help!

We’re scheming up a micro-wedding package and want to know: if you were planning something simple and stress-free, what would be your “must-haves”?

Here’s what we’re thinking so far:
💍 One-day rental (8am–10pm)
🪩 Max 50 guests
🖤 Venue: The Loft (tables + chairs included, with AC/heat)
📖 Officiant (plus help writing your ceremony)
🍹 Two bartenders + setup for a cash bar (beer, wine, champagne, + 2 signature cocktails - you can pick up the tab if you want to turn it into an open bar!)
🌲 Ceremony by the pond (weather permitting) or indoors in winter
💄 Use of the farmhouse for getting ready (no overnight stay, but you can add a night in the bridal suite or log cabin if you want a cozy newlywed spot)
📸 Photographer for 4 hours (add more if you want)
🎶 DJ for 6 hours (ceremony + reception)
🍴 Full catering with a pre-set menu you can customize (“pick 3” style, with adjustments for dietary needs)
📋 Day-of coordinator for 7 hours (this is necessary, don't questions us here!)

This would be valid for Wednesdays during peak season and weekends in off-season (Dec–April).

The Loft seats up to 75 indoors (110 mixed seating/standing). BYOB permitted. Weekday rates are lower, weekends a little higher... we’re keeping it fair + accessible while covering costs. (If you’re a fellow entrepreneur, I’d love your feedback on pricing too!)

🌾 When we opened Meadow Ridge Farm back in 2018, we were the first venue with on-site lodging in this part of Maine.

Now? Venues are everywhere. From busy tourist hotspots along the coast to areas so remote you'll see more moose than cell phone bars.

Still, even with all those options, our dates book up 18–24 months in advance... usually by couples who aren't from Maine at all.

So… why?

We started asking. And the answers were beautifully consistent:

✨ It’s quiet. Really quiet. No honking. No sirens. Just you, your favorite people, and the wind through the trees.
🌌 You can see the stars. (Personally, I've never lived in a city, so I didn't realize many people go long stretches without a clear view of the sky) Bonus: we have a lot fireflies... which adds to the magic.
🚗 There’s no traffic. Everyone moves a bit slower out here, but that's okay.
🦌 The wildlife. Sit by the pond and you're bound to watch an osprey and eagle battle over a fish. We have a mama deer that takes her baby out around 7pm every evening. And kids always get a kick out of the mega bullfrogs in the pond.
💛 But most of all… it feels like a bubble. One of those rare places where time slows down, everyone’s present, and core memories are made. Our couples love the beauty of the farm, but they positively cherish the way it feels to be here.

No, we’re not *that* remote. Winterport, Maine, is 15 min from Bangor’s airport (along with major hotel chains), 30 to Belfast, and an hour to Acadia. But when you’re here, it feels like the middle of nowhere... in the best possible way.

And what makes it magic ✨
