Happy 1 year anniversary to D’s Cozy Kitchen being at Berkeley College! We are so happy and blessed to have the opportunity of being partnered with Berkeley College for year 2! For us being fellow Berkeley Alumni, we are honored to celebrate today with you ! Come down to the cafe at 12pm to cut cake with us because without you, this wouldn’t be possible. You also may enter our free entree raffle ! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Berkeley College for this opportunity, for Ty Gaines (campus COO) for pushing us and believing in us, to all Berkeley College students, faculty, and staff, to the Woodland Park Library patrons, and last but not least and very dear to our hearts is our friends and family. Some of you have helped us open the cafe by taking hours out of your time to deep clean it with us to get it ready for opening, some of you have physically worked with us as cashiers, grill chefs, assistant cooks, operations, and waitstaff, some of you were able to be here during our first day of ribbon cutting, some of you have made surprised visits throughout the year that has always put a huge smile on our face and some of you are always supporting from afar. We love you guys ! Cheers to year 2 ! Looking forward to many more !

Appetizers: chicken & beef empanadas, pico de gallo,
Guacamole, tortilla chips.

Mains: Pernil (roasted pork) , Latin baked chicken, arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas), arroz blanco (white rice), habichuelas guisadas (stewed beans), tostones (fried plantains), maduros (sweet plantains).

Desserts: Bavarian cream filled churros & regular churros.

When someone goes out of their way to leave us feedback and comments like these, through all the challenging times, to all the late nights, to all the consecutive days working without a day off, to the long hours, this, this right here makes it all worth it. When we’re able to not just bring food to a party but a whole experience, our hearts are filled with gratitude that we were able to make someone’s special event, a little more special. We go above and beyond, on every single job. Whether it be a drop off catering or us staying to work your whole event, we truly put our heart and soul into everything we do and it is so rewarding when a client reaches back out to share their feedback.

3 years ago D’s Cozy Kitchen went live. And look at all we have accomplished thus far. If you don’t know the history of D’s Cozy Kitchen, let’s take a walk down memory lane together.

Vanessa who is my fiancé and business partner for years told me that I needed to jar my vodka sauce and sell it. I kept telling her no no, who’s going to buy it ? There’s so many other vodka sauces out there. She kept pushing and pushing and I didn’t see the worth in it, little did I know, this little jar of vodka sauce would turn us intowho we are today.

I was making a big batch of it for a friend we were visiting in Florida. Vanessa came up behind me and recorded me stirring it, which I had no idea ! Couple hours go by and she says that I have to make about 11 jars of vodka sauce when we get back because she posted it on social media spreading the word on how everyone needed to get their hands on this homemade vodka sauce that she calls “liquid gold”.
I said what? She said, yeah you’ve got 11 orders! We ended up loosing count of how many hundreds of jars we were pumping out. I couldn’t believe it. Then people started asking if we did caterings, well, I’ve been in this industry for about 15 years and I loved to cook so why not ! Then people began to ask for other than Italian food. With Vanessa being Puerto Rican and has been taught how to cook traditional authentic Puerto Rican foods, we said yes!

3 years later, we went into business together full time, we left our full time jobs, we own 2 brands, we have a cafe, a full service catering company doing parties for 300+ people, a huge following, a team of waitstaff & bartenders, and just launched our street food mobile pop up serving the best Puerto Rican cuisine.

All of this, from a little jar of vodka sauce and a partner who believed in me and pushed me farther then any manager or mentor ever has.

So here’s to you my love, happy 3 years since our first batch of vodka sauce went out for delivery. Look at all that we have accomplished and all that is to come. The possibilities are endless with our fire, passion, and love for eachother and for our future ♥️

“Absolutely beautiful. The quality is amazing. The tent is sturdy and the quality of materials used for tent top, side walls, back walls, flags and banners is great. We were so impressed when we set it up. The customer service is also amazing. They always answered my questions even after hours and the night before our soft opening, we couldn’t figure out how to get the side walls on properly and I freaked and reached out to their chat at like 10pm and someone actually gave me a call to help us. That was really nice of you guys to help even after hours ! We will definitely be using them when we are in need for more marketing items. Thank you!”
