California Duck Days is April 27 at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area Headquarters. So many fun activities. I have a variety of aprons I wear when I paint. I recently had the opportunity to paint for "Shark Week" at a summer camp. I decided I needed a shark themed apron to wear. The shark on the apron is a pocket that can hold my phone(the shark is also removable so I can wear the apron without the shark when appropriate). Of course, as often is the case, only a handful of kids wanted sharks painted. But I love the apron and it was fun learning a few new sharks to paint.

A fun family event! I will be there helping kids make ducks/decoys and little boats out of tule(a plant that grows in the wetlands). Stop by and say hello! There are so many fun activities at duck days including baby ducklings to hold, a pond to dip a net in and see what lives in the water, and so much more!

While we shelter in place, I'm missing seeing all the smiling faces of the children I paint. I paint a little, but I know with social distancing it may be a while before face painting is allowed or even wanted by anyone. So to keep busy I'm teaching my dog, Cassi, new tricks. In the past week, she's been learning to paint. It's kind of like painting with a 1 or 2 year old, but it's fun & she seems very happy with her work. Perhaps when parties begin, she could come and paint for your children and show them all her new tricks!

Parties are cancelled, restaurants closed. No face painting until the current crisis is over.

I'll be practicing and try to post new designs from time to time. I also hope to post ideas for kids. I can't imagine how hard it is for children right now.

One of my neighbors asked via the online group Nextdoor, that we have a "bear hunt" for children by putting teddy bears in our windows so their children can "hunt for bears" when they go for a walk in the neighborhood. I decided to add a moon and stars for my little astronaut bear.

Three beautiful young women who enjoyed having their faces painted as much as all the young children at a recent event. Often when I paint, moms, teenagers and even a dad or two will join the fun and have their faces painted.

I have a busy weekend ahead. Today I've been working on some bling for a Paw Patrol party and a few quick Paw Patrol designs(I'd come across some Peppa Pig stickers which are popular so I also made a little Peppa Pig bling).
