We are in our transparency era.
We are working with clients who align with our vision, vibe, personality, and aesthetic in 2025 and beyond.
We are focused on being open, honest, and communicative with our pricing and expectations.
We are charging for our time, experience, talent, and then adding tax.
We are setting clear and respectful boundaries, and expecting our clients to adhere to those boundaries.
We are compassionately redirecting clients to other florists who may be a better fit financially.
We are not bowing down to “Well I have competitive quotes from so-and-so florist, and they can do it cheaper.” They can’t. They’re just doing something different and it’s not our job to accept less than what we are worth.
We are zip tying full trees to tent posts because that’s what we do. We go above-and-beyond for our clients. We don’t settle for a few strands of smilax when we could be combining it with local birch trees.
It’s taken me a very long time to understand my value as a designer and an artist, and now that I am there, I’m here to boost the rest of you up who may be living in their imposter syndrome era. Do I still get imposter syndrome? Absolutely. Am I letting that define the work I do and the clients whom I work with? Absolutely not. If someone doesn’t want to work with you within the parameters YOU set as a leader in your field, they ain’t your client, honey, and they never were. Let them skip down the road to Smoke and Dahlia, who “can do it cheaper.” And clients, we 100% understand budgetary constrictions and will always try to work magic within your budget, but sometimes the vision and the budget just don’t align, and that’s okay. However, my advice to clients is when it comes to your florals and design pieces, cheap is cheap. If you are okay with that, awesome! But without those “wow” elements, what is there?
We are not chasing after those who were never meant to be a part of our journey, and all you need to do is reach out to me if you need that reminder, too.
