We are so excited to be bringing Simon's Dream, The Music of Penguin Café Orchestra, to the Maverick this evening!

Simon's Dream' represents a rare chance to hear the eclectic and uplifting music of the seminal British instrumental group Penguin Cafe Orchestra, played live by a band that includes members of the original ensemble. Jennifer Maidman and Annie Whitehead were both long-standing members of the original group and collaborated extensively with its late founder, Simon Jeffes. Simon started the band after a series of unusual dreams and visions about a possible dystopian future and its antidote, a magical cafe where a special kind of music would be played that would open hearts, connect souls, and lift spirits.

Tonight, from 8 pm to 10 pm, our stage will be graced by Simon's Dream original members Jennifer Maidman and Annie Whitehead, along with some of the Hudson Valley's very own musicians, Scott Petito, Jerry Marotta, Liam Singer, and Jonathan Talbot!

This weekend, we are pleased to present Tracy Bonham's Melodeon.

We're welcoming the two-time GRAMMY® nominee Tracy Bonham BACK to the Maverick for this week's Maverick Family Saturdays, our free short, interactive events designed for kids and adults alike.

Tracy celebrates the joy of learning and shares her passion for music theory and harmony through her original music, stories, and movement. Melodeon's songs are not only educational, they encourage empathy and self-awareness.

Bonham believes an education in music is an essential tool for children to connect to themselves and to the world around them. It activates both sides of the brain to improve cognitive functioning, such as speech, language, and mathematics, as well as spatial learning and creativity.

Come on out this Saturday from 11 am - 12 pm for our free Maverick Family Saturdays event, which is sponsored in part with support from the Klock Foundation!

A look into this past weekend at the Maverick! 🎼

On Saturday, Viet Cuong joined us as a co-host for our free Maverick Family Saturdays with the amazing young woodwind quintet WindSync!

On Saturday, we welcomed Andrew Appel and his internationally known Baroque music group, the Four Nations Ensemble.

On Sunday, Maverick the Chamber Music Festival was pleased to present a pre-concert talk with Viet Cuong and Alexander Platt, followed by WindSync as they kicked off their Maverick debut with the pianist Blair McMillen!

We have TEAMED UP with Family of Woodstock Inc on a special fundraising project!

Here's how it works: For each Family of Woodstock volunteer who helps with car parking at events, Maverick will provide two free tickets for the event at which the person is volunteering!

Parking shifts are just two hours, and then you and your guest (who does NOT have to volunteer) can enjoy the concert. There are no post-concert responsibilities.

Maverick will donate $25 per volunteer to the Family of Woodstock Hotline & Textline Program!
