Our Community Partner Woodward Main Street is working hard to build another record-setting Lighted Christmas Parade for our downtown on Friday, Dec 6th.

WATC is in the 2nd year of Downtown Christmas Memories at the Josie Adams Cultural Centre and we hope you and your family plan to join us! Come inside for FREE HOT COCOA and STAY for "Pictures with Santa" and the Woodward Freemasons.

Bleachers will be in front of the Josie Adams Centre, with lower seating reserved for ADA Accessibility. We'd like to thank the City of Woodward and their employees for allowing us to create an inviting space with seating so all can enjoy the parade.

The K101 trailer will also be on site for the Parade Judges and the Parade Announcers. We say "BIG THANKS!" to CJ and the crew for their contribution to this community event.

Sometimes you have to slow down and take it all in!

In August of last year, I completed a facilities walk through with a detailed current conditions report.
Of the 95 items on the punchlist, the basement under the stage was a priority.

Anyone who has ever performed at the Theatre has likely been in the dressing rooms directly under the stage. Subject to flooding and years of random item storage, it was a pretty scary space. I immediately got busy looking for grants to help us bring the basement back to a usable state.
***BIG THANKS to NWEC and CoBank for their combined contribution of $5,000 towards our basement project!****

After several months of volunteer /contractor hours sorting, removal of all damaged soft materials, roll off dumpsters, and the installation of a sump pump and adding a dehumidifyer... it's a completely NEW/old space! The basement is now ready for paint and some furniture, and I know it's going to be a great space to hang out in! This is a huge milestone in our efforts.

Many are probably wondering about the 1930's paintings on the walls. They are still here, aging and continuing to fade, but still viewable for the time being.

Woodward Arts & Theatre Council is now heading into 2025 and planning Programming and Facility use. Many spaces throughout the building(s)
need work such as painting, carpentry, and more.

We continue to ask our community to help us with our preservation efforts for this Historic building. We are adding more volunteer time every month and the momentum is stronger than ever. Now is your chance to support the legacy of the arts in our home town and at the center of the Woodward Community. Please consider us during Year-End Giving this month and next.

I also want to say "Thank you" to all who have reconnected over the last year. Your support keeps me inspired and moving towards a grand vision for the future of Woodward Arts Theatre.
