Piper Olson is December Early Childhood Classes Student of the Month! Piper is in Pre-K at Bright Beginnings at the Woodward Church of Christ and takes Combo A Ballet/Tap. This is her first year at R&C. Here are some other fun facts about Piper:

1) What are your big plans for Christmas Break? Celebrating Christmas
2) What are you asking Santa or your parents for Christmas? And why? A new AmericanGirl doll (bitty baby) and new clothes for her. Baby dolls and accessories are my favorite.
3) What is your favorite Christmas movie and why? The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. I like all the pretty costumes.
4) What is your favorite thing about dancing at R&C? Doing spins with my class.

The December Leveled Classes Student of the Month is Kadence Boring. Kadence is a freshman at WHS, takes ballet 5, pointe, Jazz 5, and Tap 5. She is one of the Level 5 soloists and a member of Diamonds & Pearls Performance Company. This is her 10th year at R&C!! Here are some other fun facts about Kadence:

1) What are your big plans for Christmas Break?
I am going to Oregon with all my family to visits my aunts’ house.
2) What are you asking Santa or our parents for Christmas? And why?
I’m asking santa for uggs because they are the best house shoe/winter shoe ever!
3) What is your favorite Christmas movie and why?
My favorite christmas movie is Home Alone because it really makes me feel the Christmas spirt!!
4) What is your favorite thing about dancing at R&C?
My favorite thing about dancing at r&c is the amazing people i have met and the memories i have made. This company has truly changed my life!

R&C Christmas Week is the week of December 16. We will NOT have regular scheduled classes but a series of Christmas Parties depending upon age and level. Creative Movement thru Level 2 parties will be at the studio. Dancers can wear their pjs and bring a blanket and pillow. We will lounge on the floor and watch part of a movie and play a dance game or two. Bring a snack to share, if you want. I will furnish popcorn and water. Levels 3, 4, & 5 will be treated to a movie at Lakeside 6. Watch for an email and/or Remind app with details about that in a couple of days.

This morning I was welcomed into my mom’s local coffee shop with praise about the Come Rain or Shine show from a local who came by herself to watch dancers who she is not related to in anyway. Just to see the art of dance. And she said she had goosebumps. YOU DID THAT, DANCERS. You told a good story. So may I just say….BRAVO!!

Another superb performance by D&P!! Another show where people connected emotionally to the dancers. For 11 years, I’ve preached the importance of storytelling. I think people are finally catching on. It really doesn’t matter how many turns and tricks you can do if you aren’t telling a compelling story. Another fine chance to see these dancers tomorrow for the Opening Night of Crystal Christmas and AGAIN on Saturday, November 23 for an hour and 15 minutes of great story telling!!

We are so sad for you if you missed last night's Preshow Performance from this spirited group of young performers!

Not only did they perform, they brough it ALL right in front of the big curtain. They showcased a quick glimpse of their talent and skills to our audience, and to many who may have never been to one of R&C's productions or rectitals. What a special time!

Moriah Mueller is Early Childhood Classes November Student of the Month!! Moriah is a homeschooled 1st grader and is in Combo B Ballet/Tap. This is her second year at R&C!! Here are some other fun facts about Moriah:

1) What is your favorite food served on Thanksgiving and why? Pumpkin pie - because it has sugar!
2) What are you most thankful for and why? My parents - because they take care of me and love me.
3) What are your plans for Thanksgiving break? Visit grandparents and my cousins.
4) What is your favorite thing about taking dance at R&C? Miss TeNeil is nice to our class and we get candy at the end!

2) What are you most thankful for and why? My family. They support me in everything and always have my back.
3) What are your plans for Thanksgiving break? Get together with my extended family.
4) What is your favorite thing about taking dance at R&C? The technique and level of community between all us girls and Ms TeNeil.
