Congratulations to MPB on their quarterfinals win in the opening round of Class B State Volleyball!

Making it to State in any sport when you live in a small town (Woodworth, population 40) is kind of a big deal around here. It's an even bigger deal when you have neighbor kids and friends playing! There are some special girls on this team that Luka looks up to as sisters. We wish you girls and the entire team the best of luck tomorrow!

A huge thank you to Newman Print a division of Newman Signs for the wonderful signs!

When buying tubers, these are the things you need to make a plant. A tuber needs to have an eye, crown, neck and body.

Keep in mind, no two tubers are alike. Some tubers are not pretty (they are roots afterall). Some tubers are huge and some are small. Some varieties produce a ton, some hardly make 1 good tuber.

As long as you have all the parts, under good growing conditions, should produce a wonderful plant! We try our hardest to sell the best tubers we have. If we send you a mislabel, or a blind tuber (tuber that lacked an eye) please reach out to us so we can make it right.

This is what works for us. Keep in mind, our business revolves around tuber sales. We wash and divide what we can to sell. If you are a home gardener, washing and dividing is not always necessary.

We start by cutting the stalk down in the garden. After cutting down, we dig them up with a shovel. Keep back from the stalk to avoid hitting the tubers. Wash the clump thoroughly as it helps by making the eyes visible.

After these clumps dry (one day and never in direct sunlight) we start the process. We clip off any small tubers and the roots. Next you need to identify the eyes. Each tuber needs to have an eye to produce a plant next season. Divide your clump and make sure each one has an eye. We then dip the fresh cuts in cinnamon. After they dry overnight (we cover ours overnight in the containers in the garage with a bed sheet), we dip them one more time in a sulfur and cinnamon powder.

After that, we add vermiculite to the containers and they go into storage. Keep in mind, we go through this extensive process as we sell tubers. You can keep clumps whole and toss them in a box with a medium and put them in a cool spot (45° is ideal for us).

Check them once and awhile to make sure they are ok and not rotting. Digging dahlias doesn't need to be hard. It can be really simple and really rewarding after you get the hang of it. Drop any questions below and we will try and answer them as fast as possible!

Big freeze tonight and we welcome it with open arms. 2025 has been an incredible journey, but we've emerged stronger and more resilient than ever. Digging out the garden marks the beginning of a new cycle, filled with fresh possibilities and tubers to plant next year. Thank you for the immense amount of support this season!

Closing out the night with Bloomquist Jean as the sun sets on our 2025 cut floral season, we're filled with gratitude and excitement for what's to come.

Floral arrangements are always created with a specific concept and design in mind. We do not count stems, but rather price them based on size. We try to be reasonable with our pricing for the designs we create. We aim to create unique and colorful vases that people will enjoy.

We have quickly learned that we enjoy putting together designer urns for funerals. This may be because we can make them huge with lots of stems. We try our hardest to make sure they are perfect.

Neither of us grew up in the industry. Neither of us have ever taken a class. Neither of us went to school for anything related to flowers or floral design. We are not professionals, but instead we try our hardest to do the best job we can. We do want to thank anyone who has given us advice or criticism that make us better at our craft!

Below are some of the large arrangements we have put together for numerous occasions.

We took the day and started prepping our garden for digging. We cut down 4 of the 12 rows. We will start lifting tubers soon!

Why do we cut down the dahlias? With so many plants, we typically do not wait for frost to kill the plants. If we would continue to wait for frost, we may go from frost to winter really fast. So we cut down our early planted rows that have been in the ground for 150 days. We leave 5 or 6 inches of stalk for us to attach the variety tag to and let them sit for maybe a week before we dig, wash and then divide.

We do still continue to make flowers that are available in the cooler in our garage. If the front door is open, the cooler is self serve. If the door is closed, we are sold out. The flower garden in our yard is not for picking your own flowers. While we love the interest and support, we spend a massive amount of time making sure the plants are labeled correctly. The more people walking through the garden, the greater the chance a tag may be misplaced.

Once we get to digging, we will post more information with pictures and videos on what we do and what works for us. Make sure to follow our page to keep up to date!

The one that started it all- Purple Taiheijo.

Back in 2019, we stumbled upon some locally grown tubers at a greenhouse in MN. We had no idea what we were doing, but have learned along the way!

From heatwaves to hurricane winds and drought, we still surge on!

Our Garden Tour and You Pick shocked us. We do not have a head count, but we were overwhelmed with the support! Everyone was so respectful and so interested in what we had to share. We had some rain early in the day, but that didn't stop people from coming.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in our open house! I remember turning around and thinking, "where did all these people come from?!" We had a blast and look foward to next years event!

Here is a video recap from the day. Thank you to Addison Rall with Addison K Creative Co. for putting this together for us!

We are so excited for the open house today! Rain or shine, the show must go on!

Please wear appropriate footwear as the grass and dirt in the garden can get slippery!

Our open house event is from 3-6 with the You Pick starting at 6!

Words cannot describe how we feel right now. We would have never imagined being where we are just a few years ago. What started as a small vision, has quickly consumed our backyard.

There is no way we could do it without our family and friends. The extra help enables us to be able to do what we do.

We love our community, we love our supporters, and we love our flowers.

Thank you for supporting us on this crazy ride!
